Experience to Remember!!! (Part 3 of Our Life Experiences Living in El Salvador)

in #food7 years ago

One of our best experiences while living in El Salvador was when we went to Acajutla Port, to visit my husbands' cousin, Douglas who was working that day as a Marine in Acajutla.
Acajutla is one of a seaport located on the Pacific Coast of Central America. It is a town and municipality in Sonsonate Department.

The first place Douglass wanted to show us was the fishing port where all the fisherman brought their fish and a place where all the fish gets cleaned and sold.
This was probably the most amazing and exciting thing for my two boys to experience since the first thing that caught their attention were all the Sharks and Stingrays and all these sea creatures that they never seen before other than on tv or pictures.
To tell you the truth I was pretty surprised myself since I have never seen a shark myself only on television, and to see that many of them was just so crazy.

Have you ever tried eating a shark? This was our first time we actually tried eating a shark, and I absolutely loved the taste and so did my boys. I think I would actually say that shark is my favorite fish dish. We did eat it only twice and both times they were delicious and the beautiful thing about them is that there was no bones to take out or to worry about and that was the best part for my boys.

Stingrays, which I had no idea were eatable. From what I heard that the meat is dense and chewy and it tastes like a mix of lobster and fish.

Our good friend who came visit us in El Salvador and my son standing right beside him looking at another fishing boat comming to shore.

This is one of the best places to come and purchase fresh fish for a really good price. We ended up buying quite a bit of different kinds of fish to try it out.
