Today's Sustainable Feast in the Garden of Eden

in #food7 years ago (edited)

It is another glorious day in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!

We made a delicious feast for our volunteers today on our wood burning stove rather than on the rocket stoves of our sustainable outdoor kitchen! We stayed nice and toasty, had a fantastic meal, AND heated water for showers for super sustainable efficiency. As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you!

Today we made an amazing Italian inspired feast!

We had a beautiful spread with organic apple and chicken sausages, pizza, an antipasto platter, tortellini with pesto, sautéed vegetables with parmesan, beets with garlic and goat cheese, and a wonderful garden salad.

We started with our daily salad by picking lots of greens from the garden. We topped them with chopped apples, onions, creamy avocados, broccoli, and pungent crumbles of blue cheese.

We are all free to customize our servings exactly as we wish. This yummy salad portion is topped with homemade kimchi, nutritional yeast, sprouted sunflower seeds, and our swirled strawberry dream vinegar

We browned some organic sweet and savory apple sausages in a bit of olive oil for our meat eaters to enjoy.

We also served a yummy flat bread pizza with lots of mozzarella, sausage, and roasted red peppers.

We prepared a beautiful antipasto platter for fun snacking! Here we have thin slices of prosciutto, dried salami, and mozzarella rolled with more prosciutto along with roasted red peppers and salty pitted olives.

We made a few delicious vegetable dishes for sides, and because we don't have any vegans dining with us today we were liberal with the cheeses!

We have been enjoying beets with almost every meal lately! These lovely root vegetables are a deep, dark red that looks fantastic against creamy dabs of white goat cheese. The textures complement each other nicely, and the flavors were practically made for each other! We drizzled the whole dish with garlic and herbs in olive oil for an extra tasty kick.

For another side, we lightly sautéed onions, peppers, cauliflower, and green beans in olive oil. We sprinkled the dish with shredded parmesan and let the heat of the veggies melt it.

We boiled some delicious ricotta and herb filled tortellini pasta, drained it, and tossed these tender stuffed noodles with flavorful garlic basil pesto sauce.

It was a fantastic feast that we celebrated in good company!

Of course we took a few extra minutes to make beautiful plates, because we feast with our eyes first! Taking care to make a pretty serving of food makes everything taste and feel better.

Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food!

We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is our indoor wood burning stove in action - it cooks our food, warms our communal space, and heats water for hot showers all at the same time!

I continue the party in Eden friends blessings I loved your stove is very practical they have everything at the same time eat and hot water

Our wood stove is excellent! It does so much for us. We burn chopped wood in it from trees that blow down in storms, or that our neighbors cut down and were going to throw in a landfill.

Friend that divine is everything as always amaze us with their recipes I loved the sausages look delicious

Our meat eaters really enjoyed those sausages too. They had chunks of apple to make them a bit sweet!

I liked the idea of the pieces of apples I'll try

Everything looks delicious but the pizza I think it wins looks very good and the delicious antipasto I think I would eat everything

If you lived here, you could have some of everything!

So it was Italian delight, damn looks yummy & intriguing.my tastes buds are flooding.

Another epic, sustainable feast in the Garden of Eden!

Aaah, that looks so good! The apple and chicken sausages, I'll take two. Now I'm craving antipasto, and the salad makes me want salad and bread sticks.

This was an epic meal. Hope you have some great, sustainable things to feast on this evening too @themanwithnoname!

Veggie soup with ground chicken and Italian parsley on top, and cornbread with honey. Can't complain! If it had been cooked over a wood stove, it might have been made at your place.

This looks amazing! Especially all of the fresh vegetables, avocado in particular and those chicken sausages. I just ate home made tacos, but this is making me hungry again! Food is so important. I've been remembering that as we've just moved to a new home with a much better equipped kitchen. Not woodburning, kudos on that! @markrmorrisjr

Thanks for reading & commenting @markrmorrisjr! Glad to hear you are giving food more consideration - it is indeed very important! It becomes our physical bodies, and our abundant planet gifts us all the healthful treats we need for ample wellness.

I've always enjoyed working with food, but sometimes, you live with what's available. I do almost all of the cooking for my family of ten. Anyway, your feast looks amazing. Our universe is definitely more abundant than most of us believe. If I could eradicate one belief, it would be the idea that everything, everywhere, is scarce.

no better company than Quiqi and Noka great kids and so many love shared from @gardenofeden little wonder I mentioned this great place in my love post yesterday in steemit! thanks for always sharing love and great meal.

Thanks for the shout out, @kenhudoy! We are happy to inspire people to live a thriving life, and we find that food and love are a few of the bases in that.

Always welcome 😘😎
