It is a fantastic day and an epic weekend in the Garden of Eden, and we are giving thanks for more than enough of everything in this abundant life of freedom!  

In a few days, we will share with you the epic feast we had for @quinneaker's awesome Angels & Demons birthday party this weekend.

In the meantime, we feast every day, so we'll share today's sustainable feast! We made a delicious spread for our full time volunteers today on our indoor wood burning stove rather than on the rocket stoves of our sustainable outdoor kitchen. We stayed nice and toasty, had a fantastic meal, AND heated water for showers for super sustainable efficiency. As usual, there was more than enough food for everyone, and we are happy to share our abundance with you!

To clean out the fridges and freezers to make space for party food, we made a wonderful spread with little bits of this and that!

We made a unique dinner with fresh garden salad, lasagna, pizza, feta swirl puff pastry, macaroni and cheese, thai chicken noodles, and spicy sweet and sour chicken!

Our daily salad featured a bed of kale topped with grated carrots, mushrooms, cauliflower, white onions, tomatoes, and green onions. It was a vibrant, bright, and fresh dose of delicious phytonutrients! 

We had a few servings of interesting entrees on hand, so we reheated them for our day's dinner offerings. We made bite sized breaded and fried chicken chunks tossed in a spicy sweet and sour sauce. We made spaghetti noodles tossed in a peanut sauce with water chestnuts, carrots, peppers, and snow peas with chicken. We also made some creamy macaroni and cheese! 

We made a crispy, cheesy flatbread pizza with mushrooms and onions and cut it into slices for each person who wanted some to enjoy a piece. 

We made a feta spiral puff pastry, and it was a big hit! It was crispy, flaky, and warm, and the feta added a great tang and creaminess. We cut it in wedges for serving, and each person had as much as they wanted!

We offered a cheesy lasagna with bolognese meat sauce as another option. 

Lastly, we served a plate of saucy barbecued chicken for our meat eaters to enjoy! 

It was a lovely and eclectic meal with plenty of food for everyone! Sustainability is about using the things you have on hand in great abundance, and this dinner was a shining example of that. 

Food is important, and we hope to inspire people to really take time to eat, enjoy it, and share it with someone you love. We also hope to inspire more and more sustainable practices in regards to food! 

We do all of our cooking over fire, using wood that was otherwise destined to end up in a landfill! This is our indoor wood burning stove in action - it cooks our food, warms our communal space, and heats water for hot showers all at the same time!
