My dear foodies,

For today I have a rich recipe based on tofu, tofu has surprisingly become popular even outside the vegan borders, more and more people are seen consuming products of animal origin consuming this type of products, such as tofu, which is no more than a derivative of soy transformed into a cheese because of its high vegetable protein content. The reality is that it is very tasty and everyone should try it and incorporate it into their diet. This is a delicious Hawaiian grilled tofu, come with me to prepare this rich recipe.

My secrets INGREDIENTS

(for 2 portions):

♡ 200 g Firm tofu

♡ 30 ml Soy sauce (reduced salt)

♡ 30 ml Pineapple juice

♡ 30 ml Vegetable cooking liquid cream

♡ 2 ml Tahini (optional)

♡ 2.5 ml Sesame oil (optional, replace with another oil)

♡ 5 ml Lime juice

♡ 2.5 ml Apple or rice vinegar

♡ Granulated garlic a pinch

♡ Sweet paprika a pinch

♡ Cayenne a pinch

♡ Ground black pepper

♡ Brown sugar or honey

PREPARATION

Preparation time: 30min

Cooking time: 30min

Total: 60min

Its preparation is very simple and practical, you will be surprised with how quickly this recipe is made. The tofu will be flavored and sealed with a rich citrus sauce.

The first thing we will do is to discard the tofu liquid, this we will do by draining gently, we will use kitchen paper or clean cloths, we will leave our tofu about 30 minutes, do not forget to place an extra weight on top to compact well.

After the time, we will cut in 4 rectangles of 1 cm thick.

Then we will beat the soy sauce with pineapple juice, cream, tahina, and lemon juice. Add the rest of the spices, granulated garlic, vinegar, paprika, our cayenne and a pinch of black pepper. Then we will mix with the brown sugar, this step is to taste, I prefer to leave it in a bittersweet spot, with this sauce let marinate our tofu about 30 minutes.

And our final stage of this preparation is to grill our flavored tofu, drain the sauce, and cook the tofu about 6 minutes on each side, this we will do until golden and has its characteristic golden color, the sauce helps more to give that aspect, finally, glazed just halfway through cooking and put a little more of the marinade, reserving a little to eat later.

We can accompany the Hawaiian tofu to the grill with a rich aromatic rice or with vegetables to the taste.

NOTE: it is advisable to consume this dish at the time of finishing cooking, if you are cooking several pieces do not forget to give a heat stroke again to the tofu to acquire the desired consistency.

This inspired me to give tofu another chance! Last time I made it, I made a mess and it had a mushy texture.

Pan fry for about 2-3 minutes, until crispy; flip the tofu chunks, and cook on the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes. Repeat until the tofu is crispy.

Tofu is quite expensive in my country and I have never tried it, but you inspire me to give it a try :) thanks
