Coffee is Life
One of my first memories with my wife concerns this Coffee Children's song. We met in summer of 2011 when she attended a Music Education Workshop, and I believe this one came up in a Kodaly teaching method workshop. Somehow this song kept getting stuck in our heads, but it's most likely because we both love coffee.
How do we like our coffee, you ask? Black!
Black coffee, when the coffee quality is really good, is an out-of-this-world experience. I've only had such an experience a few times, and since then I just still drink coffee black out of habit. It was when I visited the big island in Hawaii, and had their famed Kona coffee. I can still remember how smooth the coffee tasted, and if I could get that high every time I had coffee I think I'll be set. That and a lifetime supply of creamy avocados.
I'll still drink the occasional coffee with milk, or as I like to call it, coffee-flavored milk (or milk-flavored coffee, depending). And even more rare, throwing sugar in it. That's how I used to have all coffee since I did not like the taste at first. Makes a good dessert.
Mornings like today, starts with coffee. This procedure doesn't give the best coffee, but is "good enough" and quick. Grind whole beans with this thing:

Yeah I know, if you're a coffee diehard you're probably gagging right now. Guess I'm not invested enough in coffee to get that effect of that first cup of coffee in Hawaii that got me hooked.

Strong coffee in large quantities - that's what I need to wake up. It warms and gives me strength. Sometimes it causes sweet pain, but I rather prefer to suffer from it than give up coffee. Thank you for the post I vote for you

Love my coffee black in the mornings and with cream or milk later on. Oh coffee! I've got a cuisinart coffee machine. Chuck the beans in the top and coffee magically appears in the jug. Noisy bugger though. A friend bought me a Tassimo for crimbo. That's nice for quick convenience (no washing up).

Yes, the one I've got is an all-in-one machine. I've had it for about 12 years now. Still works perfectly. They're worth the extra money. Invest in your relationship with coffee.

Dood you are hilarious! I have to say I am quite fickle about my coffee and I have a Chimex and that one you have as a backup. I do not have the Cuisinart grinder that looks awesome. I have the German one, can't remember the name right now. Yay coffee lovers. The song is too cute. xx
Is chimex slightly different? Makes better coffee? The grinder I have is pretty decent and not too pricey if I remember correctly.
Just slightly different Ev .. not by much .. the taste is a little cleaner but I feel it is the filters you have to buy for the Chimex. :)

I agree, no sugar or milk, just plain old black coffee. If its done via espresso, that's normally the best!
Espresso is pretty good too. I always want it to last long though so I end up drinking tiny tiny sips. Different experience, but I end up even liking Americano sometimes.
That's great! What's your favorite coffee so far? I find that you can't really go wrong with Ethiopian coffee
