I love this as a raw salad too - very delicious is shredded cabbage with apple yummy combo

Raw is usually how I eat my cabbage. I usually add carrots, not apples, but I learned an improvement.

Damn I would not have thought that would be a good combination. Looks good enough in the pictures and description though.

May have to try that.

Apple in coleslaw or salad is common, but yeah who would have thought to cook it?

I will send you my own version of the recipe when I prepare the dish again. Definitely even better. The problem is that I don't know it by heart, I remember as i go long preparing it.

Still glad you liked it

Thanks, Actually I like tweaking recipes. I always read people's comments too.

It is a very tasty and healthy recipe:) In the past i tried this combination as a raw salad, i will check it that way also:)

I've added apples to coleslaw before and it's a great way to add some flavor. I would prefer uncooked when cold, but served hot it's unique.

Yum! I love cabbage cooked like this. The apple really does bring out some good flavor, especially with the hit of tart apple cider vinegar. I like to use some mustard in mine, as well, and often dill if I have some or whatever other herbs might be around in the garden. Hhhhmm, I have a head of green cabbage from the farmers market last week that I haven't gotten to yet, I might just have to cook it like this, too. ;)

Dill sounds nice, I really should grow some fresh stuff here. I have dill and mustard powder, I often add that to coleslaws and salad dressings.

I guess green cabbage would be similar. Maybe use green apples to avoid an upsetting color scheme.

Red cabbage is super healthy!

Is there a nutritional difference between red and green ?

Yes!

Basically the colour in foods come from different nutrients, so it's a good idea to eat lots of different colours!

I can't believe the explaination is so simple, but actually, it makes a lot of sense. I was fearing some kinda science less.
