When I had the idea for SOS, I had no idea how many people would jump on board and join in with the initiative. We are only into week 2, of posting about people we have met in the past week on the platform. The amount of posts, have more than doubled on the platform. There were SOS posts going on all over the world yesterday, I was so blown away seeing some of the photos from people who were taking part in other countries. I will highlight some of these posts tomorrow when I announce the contest winners.

Contest has closed now peeps, no more SOS entries will be accounted for. Now I have to go back through all the amazing posts, many I resteemed yesterday and upvoted. There are so many awesome people, that you all shouted out and I now have to check out. The two winners will be announced tomorrow, each winning a weeks worth of 100 SP delegation.

Whilst I was checking out these awesome posts, about these awesome people. The weasel was bouncing around post to post like zebedee from the magic round about, supporting, upvoting and commenting. He is a true gent for the support he is giving to me to help make SOS a success. I am starting to think that he is actually crazier than I am, I did not even think that was possible.

Ok guys you see SOS for its true value, you wrote fantastic posts about fantastic people. Now to find your next 3 to 6 people you have the shoutoutsaturdays tag to fall back on to find people to network with, or you can look elsewhere.
But the main thing is check your comments, you get what SOS is about which is why you are doing it. But some of those people are going to comment with things like hey thanks for the shout out.

Now thats ok not everyone will get on board with the initiative, but it is important we try to make them understand what this is all about. So what we need to do is encourage them to make their own SOS post next Saturday. That way we are all finding new people that we can engage with where we can discover awesome new content.

I tried to get on a few posts and replied to those people saying something along the lines of…

It’s great to get a shoutout isn’t it, but we have a problem. There are other people on the platform who are writing great content like yourself and they have not yet been discovered. Shoutoutsaturdays is a great incentive to hunt out those people and shout about them from the rooftops next Saturday I hope you will consider joining in.

SOS Format

This question came up a few times yesterday, people asked if they had to do the format the same way as I format my post? Absolutely not!! If everyone wrote the same SOS post in the same format they would be dull and boring after a while. So feel free to format the post, however you like and add what ever you feel is necessary, to make it vibrant and appealing.

SOS is really becoming something special, I was overwhelmed at all the wonderful messages and comments of thanks from people who are participating. But really the thanks goes to all of you, because without you guys doing this, it would never have kicked off in the first place.

Some people have said in comments that they did not have the time to write up the post. I get that, Saturday might be a busy day, for people who are catching up following work commitments. Here is something I would suggest, which is a little thing that @shadowspub taught me. So rather than wait until Saturday to write up the post, start today, start engaging with people from today and start writing your post up. Then by Friday once you have finished it and making it look beautiful, on Saturday you just have to hit that post button on Saturday and then you are done.

And on that note guys I have plenty of reading to do now and winners to select, have a wonderful week and see you at the next SOS.
