Review: It is always hard for me to write reviews about biography or drama. As they have elements that are like salt and sugar, common ingredients in every recipe, elements so cliched sometimes they make me want to plant my head straight in the ground like Emu birds. But one thing I have understood in my movie “watching” career (--___--) is that you can't always ask for “Cabernet Sauvignon 1957” you sometimes have to settle for cheap local wines too.. Makes you appreciate the older wine more.
This movie doesn't have a stellar ensemble except it does have something that is similar but old. The indeterminate line is that the cast, they are the latest old generation of cinema except for Miles Teller. An actor capable of making the sailors go “come to papa”. But I didn't like him that much previously because of his absurd choice of movies when acting. Like 21 and Over or that type of shitty movies go way over my head. Despite, this emotion almost capable of being called hatred, slowly started to dissipate over time because of his work in “Whiplash” and “War Dogs”. I always knew this guy had potential which just needed a polish by a visionary director. He hasn't reached that milestone yet but he is very close. Only the Brave is a commemoration to that. He has done an outstanding job at playing the character “Brendan” in this movie. And I believe he has a long shining career before him

Now to come to the true unsung gem of an actor Josh Brolin if you haven't noticed he is currently blowing up. he is performing as two major Marvel characters in MCU which are Thanos (In Avengers: Infinity War) And Cable(Deadpool 2). The first ever post I wrote on Steemit was a review about No Country for Old Men. His acting there was at a level that is hard to peak by almost any actor in Hollywood. And he did a to well of a job in this movie too.

Despite being a movie with little flaws it was a bit cringy to watch at some points. When Josh Brolin gives his crew a pep talk I was almost nodding my head and praying when will this part be over. Jeff Bridges seemed to me like he was trying too hard at places and at some times he wasn't even trying at all. But Joseph Trapanese composed a perfectly aesthetic music which is why I gave it an extra half points.
Overall if you like movies based on true events and biography I would recommend to go for it. This movie has a runtime of less than two hours, and it will not be a bad investment. It will make you appreciate individuals working in a harsh environment as a producer of public services. And that my friend is where they succeeded perfectly
