Bumblebee The Yellow autobot Reverts to Volkswagen Beetle!
Fans can expect some changes when Bumblebee rolls into his own solo spin-off film, Debuting in Empire Magazine, the photo from the upcoming Transformers spinoff shows The Yellow Autobot reverts to classic car "Volkswagen Beetle" with stars Hailee Steinfeld opening the door.
This is a new sight for longtime fans, because Bumblebee’s car form was depicted as a VW Beetle. Fans usually seeing as a slick yellow Camaro in "Michael Bay's" previous Transformers films. Bumblebee’s classic form was first teased in June by Transformers producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who said:
“You might even see a VW [Volkswagen] Bug. You never know.”
Directed by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings), Bumblebee is set in 1987, 20 years before the first Transformers, where the Autobot has taken refuge in a junkyard.
“It’s the story of a 18 year old girl who through a series of incidents, she and Bumblebee find each other, and they make each other whole,” di Bonaventura explained. “Bumblebee’s a very loving character. He’s got a lot of heart, so of course the idyllic life of these two is disturbed when the evil Decepticons coming. And then how are they going to be able to deal with the problem without Optimus ?”
