Deed Not
“Oh no Frank, I forgot to cancel the rental of the house,” Judy squealed.
“Honey, you mean we have renters arriving from Dubai in two days?”
“Yes, what do we do?”
“Tell the truth, Judy.”
Judy’s hands trembled while typing,
“Dear Mr. Faulkner,
New deed restrictions prohibit us from renting...”.

Oh no!! That would be a disaster... it's never happened to me thank god and all of Air B n B rentals have gone swimmingly... frantically looks for wood, then touches it
Okay, this one needs some backstory, @pyemoney. (Pretty please!) I am dying to know what's going on in this story!
I wanted to use “deed restrictions” and googled different types of deed restrictions and ran across one that has some home owners upset. Some newer subdivisions in certain areas are restricting rentals from Airbnb and other similar rental companies. Since I have used Airbnb when traveling, I thought about how angry I would I be if someone canceled a rental that I had booked months ago right before my trip, especially if I was traveling from out of the country.
Oh, I see! That makes sense now. By they way, several of us have discovered the fun of adding a "backstory" bit to add to our 50-word stories. Including the thought process that went into writing the story is really neat because it provides insights into how writers come up with ideas, and in some cases can help clarify the story itself. Feel free to try it!

Great story @pyemoney. The deed restriction may be true, but in the story it reads as if Judy actually can't help lying. I read the trembling of her fingers as an indicator of the internal conflicts she seems to face.
