The end came suddenly, more peaceful than some, worse than others.
His judgment upon me, at the foot of the throne.
My life laid bare for all to witness.
“May I ask a question?” I yearned.
He nodded lovingly.
“What was life’s whole purpose?”
His smile deepened.
“To live!”
