He carefully laid his mattress under the bridge, just beside where the neighborhood dump their refuse and wastes.
He smiled tearfully to himself as he looked up, for the bridge is his shade against rain and the scorching heat
He is thankful for his lot is not in the grave.

Interesting story, nicely told in 50 words.

😄😇😄

@creatr

Thanks a lot.

A sad reality for many @kingspiration.... As bad as things can be for us sometimes, there is always someone with no home, who is thankful for a bridge to sleep under..

Life ain't always fair. While we aspire for the next level, I think we should be a lot thankful for surely we are not the basest of people.
Thanks for your comment

Very true... Being grateful is so important, but it is easy to forget, and want more and more and more, especially in this new world society where such importance is placed on material goods..

You are right mate

I enjoyed this story, @kingspiration. I think it is true that those who have the least often appreciate what they have the most.

One suggestion for you: instead of “She smiled tearfully to himself,” it should be “He smiled tearfully to himself.”

You are very right @jayna. I think we will find more happiness when we appreciate the many pearls life places on our way.
And thanks for drawing my attention to the error.
