Grace - Fifty-Word short story challenge
A girl bounded down the stairs in her home.
Her Gran was round for tea. That usually meant presents.
She ran into the kitchen, forgetting her fluffy socks and the tiled floor don’t mix, she landed in a heap on the ground.
“Why ever did you name the girl Grace?”

Ha ha ha.. classic ending... loved that... They should have stuck with the name they had for her in the womb... Bump 😉
This is just so sweet, then with the picture, you can see her rainbow socks slipping across the floor like a young gazelle, her gran giggling in the background. It works so well, rarely do girls with virtuous names live up to them lol
Hehe, first humorous one I've read but also a great story with an apparently detailed hidden backstory

This is so cute, @gaby-crb. And there is truth in it, too. I think some names do not match their owners very well. Maybe Gran had a little something to cheer her up. :-)
