Jousting at the Fair
Sir Enjar dressed in gleaming armor onto a healthy steed. At break neck speeds he rode down the tiltyard towards his opponent where both collided at tips of other’s lancer and fell off. A duel by swords ensued and Enjar was knocked unconscious losing the jousting match at the fair.

Ahh a mighty knight he was indeed!
Hehe thanks. These are fun little posts when I can’t get my normal stuff out in time. The challenge of trying get my long winded writing down to only 50 words!
You love a challenge and you nailed it!
Even the best of knights loose at some stage
Jousting I have seen on display at a couple of medieval fairs amazing to see but not sure I would want to try it
I've never done jousting myself but it looks so intense and amazing. I would love to have chain mail armor one day but it is so expensive.
One day I'm hoping to have some disable income to make a nice little maker area. I would love to try out blacksmithing and armorsmithing. It does take up a little bit of space have some barriers to entry as cost. Not to mention I think the people next door would hate my guts if I was doing such a thing in my own backyard since it produces a lot of sound.
I have never done jousting either but I did get some chain mAil years ago I came across a chain mail vest in a small shop in Malaysia and had it for a few years but it went missing in one of my moves
Setting up a blacksmith shop would be so cool but it could either intrigue or annoy neighbors for sure
They look extremal time consuming to make. I've never looked into the price of one but I can only imagine it be high. Moving is never fun due to things like that.
There are some workshops in the backyards here but I think some of the heaver equipment would be just a bit to loud.
Yeah perhaps it would fit well in a more rural setting
I cannot remember what I paid for it it wasn’t to bad I guess and it was just a vest
Nice use of so few words. That's a challenging joust in and of itself.
Thanks, you ever try out fiftywords?
Sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like an epic battle however, even if only 50 words 😉
I thought I would put a bit of a twist on the story. Naturally it would be expected by the reader that I would win. With only 50 words I lost for word count haha.
Can't win them all 😉
I've seen a few of these fifty-word stories of yours, @enjar. Are they part of a contest like the poetry dice thing?
Not really it is more of a community at this point. You don’t even have to use this week’s topic “fair” to use the tag. It just has to be a 50-word story. It is a really cool thing on Steemit.
The long story of it is there use to be a weekly 50-word contest. I even won it at least once. It was meant to help minnows out and reward them. It even had a reputation cap quality to enter it. Over time like many contests they interest it ran out and it started to cost the person running it more then what it brought in. After a while, they decided to shut it down because it was just costing them too much.
Not too long ago I noticed a post about someone wanting to start 50 words back up. This times no prizes. I even contact the original runner of it to see if he was interested in restarting it back up himself. He never replies back. Instead, I told the guy trying to get it running again that I loved creating these and I would post them from time to time.
These are just run and short things to write. Most of the time its I either have writer's block or I’m struggling to get other content created out. So I’ll reach for one of these. Being consistent is a big deal on this platform people want daily stuff. Some older wiser fish out there recommend posting 2 blogs a day. I struggle enough some times with just 1 5 times a week.
My main thing is here comments. Not everyone wants to upvote a comment even if it effort and time was put into it. They will however slap an upvote on your blog if it’s resent enough.
If there is a particular type of content you are looking to get in to. Let me know maybe I’ll know something maybe not.
There are a lot of little things like this out there. Like photo challenges, Most don’t have rewards but they can have a large community behind them. If you take your own photos type of things are great. Thursday alone is: macrophotography, colourfulphotography, Naturelive, sunthursday, thursdaygreen.
It can be fun and enjoyable sometimes to have some structured creativity done for you. Originally can go far here once people notice it.
