Fifty Word Stories - The Last Wave
It’s the ninth wave you have to watch out for. Poseidon’s wrath roils slowly, reluctantly, they say. And you think, as a child, that you have enough time to surf the white caps.... Until you see fear on your mother’s face. You feel it behind you then.
Your last wave.

This is so freaking powerful! It amazes me how much feeling can be packed into just 50 words. It brought me back to many, many days gone by sitting beyond the breakers watching the wrath of the wave take control. Thanks for sharing.
So glad. Also - kudos for using 'freaking' in a comment, and oh so aptly. Made me smile :-)
