Blind Ambition - Free Flash Fiction - Satire
They all knew where the track was heading. Deep down. But man was it going to go fast. They were told there would be luxury seats too. It would be incredible. So they all bought tickets. They gave him their time and their money. Each one of them looked down at the track before boarding the train. Each one starring at the shiny rail, dreaming of the ride they were going to take.
It was time. The train was massive. The inside was as luxurious as promised. Gold, silver and diamonds. Each material shimmered under the sunlight. And the seats. One man fell asleep instantly.
The train started. Everyone was busy. There was a buffet. Drinks. Some people stuffed their faces. Others got drunk. But they all kept busy. They all kept looking down at the prizes before them. And the hours passed. But then the wheels started to squeek.
Somebody looked up.
There was a scream.
The train went off a cliff.
