Just like the old days
When I was younger I used to think to my future self. I would say things like, “never, under any circumstance, become dependent on anything or anyone. I guess speaking into existence really does happen to people, I said to myself back then I was gonna work my ass off just not to depend on anyone or anything. Maybe it was in my nature to have thought that way, kids back then used to wish and wanted their parents to be so rich so they could live a luxurious lifestyles and not getting to work on their future but I thought differently. If my Parents are rich that’s fine but i don’t just want to depend on their wealth rather i’d Create mine. I also said things like “never lose your innocence. “Never let the world make you hard.”
Now I sit here recollecting myself and I wonder where the time has gone.
I remember when my parents would say things like you just wait, wait until you grow up. You'll see. And see, I do. I remember asking them of some things, they will say to me wait until you grow up and won’t have to tell me till I grow up, I lost patience and wish I could grow so fast in order to get told somethings I never knew. Sometimes being a kid sucks right?
This life is so different than what I envisioned as a youth, and I am doing all I can to not let that shape me, because if it’s one thing I have come to know, it’s that expectations are unnatural, and that any moment anything happens, your lover can sleep with another man some random winter night, you can genetically lose all sense of taste, grandeur, wonder and there is not a damn thing you can do about it.
I am doing my very best to live on the lighter side of things, to not let things burden me, live and bringout positive energies that I deserve. That positivity the world owes to me but some days the fight gets the best of me.
So I turn on good music, music from Jay Z fit Mr Hudson “Forever young” like I want to live forever young like the old days.
@vellz, wow, such a story. I'll even resteem it. And did you grow rich? Like the stuff you said about envisioning. I'm now like you were when you were young. And I do also envision stuff and think a lot whom I'll be when I'm 20/23/25.
