Lovejuice Minnow Promotion //Husband Snatcher by @lordmok
HUSBAND SNATCHER
“Prostitute! Husband snatcher!! Ashewo!!!”
Kemi did not understand at first when she observed a clearly fuming woman walking towards her chanting and calling for attention in the middle of a busy mall. Her client Timothy was starting to look uneasy as the shouting woman approached, after another batch of insults landed Kemi began to get a picture, and the look of shame on Timothy’s face assured her she was right.
She was in that familiar Nollywood scene where a young lady is humiliated for daring to walk around in public with a married man who may or may not be her lover, but of course the chagrined spouse has no patience to ascertain the nature of events and proceeds to begin the order of embarrassment in earnest.
Timothy was of course not Kemi’s lover, she had a strict no mixing business with pleasure policy, a policy Nigerian men seem to have very little regard. She had met Timothy in that mall at his request, and she didn’t even know he was married.
“Excuse me madam” Kemi started in self-defense, “I think you have the wrong idea, there’s nothing going on here. I am not….”
“Shut your mouth you home wrecker” interjected Timothy’s wife. “You daughter of Jezebel, instead of you to find your own husband you will be wearing skimpy things and chasing married men. I know your type, leave my husband alone you hear, leave him for me.”
Kemi was beyond embarrassed, she was in no way prepared for this, and to top it off Timothy had somehow disappeared in the middle of all this. She picked up her bag and started to walk away too, words had fail her and there was no reasoning with this woman.
“Don’t let me ever see you again you hear. If I catch you again I will pour hot water on that your makeup face.” The woman barked behind her.
As Kemi focused on her escape she could feel the eyes glaring at her as if trying to pierce her skin and uncover secrets within. Nigerians are suckers for good drama, and she just helped some get their daily quota of it.
She made haste for her car after exiting the building, and when finally in her car she breathe deeply to calm herself. She was shaking, she hadn’t even noticed before. After a few minutes of sitting there a call came in and it was from Timothy, she ignored the call and deleted his number immediately. A feeling of relief washed over her as she pulled out of the parking lot.
