For one brief second, Jarius flirted with the idea of punching Silk in the mouth. Only the success of the mission stayed his hand, because Romulans did not go around attacking each other, at least not in public. Only barbaric races, such as the Klingon's and Metkon's, acted in such a way, besides once they made it back home, he could always lay Silk out.
After a moment of strained silence, Jarius mumbled, "Boring I guess." Then he glanced over at Martin and Chiako and immediately realized the two had been through this before.
Not long after they had left, the apartment manager brushed his fingers across his throat. They aren’t with Imperial Intelligence. He thought, If they are, then I’m a kree-beast. After a moment of reflective thought, he activated his desktop viewer. “Please connect me to Major Aelor Tenek’s office.”
The screen flickered for a moment, and then cleared to show an older Romulan Officer. “Giran, this is an unexpected surprise. What can I do for you?” The Tal-Shiar officer listened intently to the apartment manager. “I’m not aware of a Commander Perth in the Tal-Shiar.” After asking for a description, his eyes narrowed. “I will take care of this.” He stated, “Well done, Citizen.”
After shutting down the communications link, Tenek tapped his fingers against the corner of the desk. Giran had always been a good source of information. The Tal-Shiar could always use men like Giran, but the apartment manager was satisfied with his life, and Tenek didn’t want to lose his informant. Finally, after reaching a decision, the Major informed his superior and suggested that random scans be initiated.
