I'm so glad somebody made the connection - there are so many possible metaphors for this dysfunctional family - a labyrinth of secret passageways with a minotaur at the center, or in this case, a game of chess with Alicia and the aunts hoping to win. Good comment
Yes, there are so many metaphors for that family....and some choice words I can think of :) You've captured the raw emotions, backstabbing and jealousy that is rife in some families. Good on you.
