The obsession- An original story - Fiction

Jessica stood in front of the church. She couldn't believe that she was getting married today. It was now or never. She was nervous. Confused even, and couldn't decide what to do. She had to make a choice now that would affect the rest of her life, and she literally had only minutes to do so. 

The groom was already waiting for his bride...and she could hear the music through the closed doors. George was excited because today was going to be the best day of his life.  

Jessica and George have known each other for nearly two years now. Every single second they spent together was the most amazing time in the world. It didn't matter to anyone that he was her boss. She's been working at the company for nearly five years when he started working there.  

She was impressed when she saw him the first time. He was the most handsome man she had ever seen. They got along exquisitely from day one,  and one day when he took all the secretaries out to lunch she landed beside him. It was then that their souls met for the first time. A month later he asked her to be his personal assistant and the rest is history.     

Everyday that they worked together they became closer and closer, and she believed that it was nothing but fate that brought them together. They became inseparable. He relied on her for everything. She made all of his appointments, she fetched his dry-cleaning and she made his lunch decisions. It was very clear that he trusted her and when he asked her to accompany him to the company's year end function she was over the moon. 

Things only started to become a little weird a few months ago when George asked her to take home some office work with her. She didn't understand why and she would much rather spend time with him at the office, but George insisted and told her that he thought that she worked too hard. 

Then Melony came into the picture. Melony and George worked together on a few projects at work but she didn't think much of it.  Work is work, and Jessica totally trusted George. She never thought that George would even consider cheating on her with Melony.  

She found the two travel tickets in his jacket pocket and couldn't wait for him to sweep her off her feet and ask her to go with him. She was sure that he was keeping it as a surprise for her, but he never asked.  Instead he told her to enjoy the weekend and told her to forward him all his calls to his cellphone. She couldn't think why George was acting this way and when she cornered him he told her that the trip was only for work. 

Two months ago he broke her heart when he told her that she was being transferred to the second floor and that she would be working for one of the female executives downstairs. It was a promotion, and it meant more money, but she wouldn't get to work with George anymore, but she knew once they were married it would become a problem for them to work together. 

She started to see less and less of George, and eventually never saw him at all.  It was like he was avoiding her. She followed him home one day, and she had never seen anyone so angry when she knocked on his door that evening. 

He told her that she was obsessed with him and that he wanted her to leave him alone. He shouted at her and he even threatened to get the police involved.  It was the worst day of her life and she had to make it right. He had to see that she loved him and that he couldn't go on without her!  She tried to see him a few more times at the office but he was always busy and eventually she stopped trying.  

She tried to avoid him until today but she knew that she couldn't let him get away from her.  They were meant to be together, and he had to see it! 

She took a deep breath.  She heard the music playing and waited for the doors to open for her to walk in.  The church looked breathtaking and she slowly walked down the isle.  She made sure that nobody would ever find Melony.  With Melony out of the picture she was the only one for George and she knew that she was the only one that could make him happy.   

George was shocked when he lifted the vail and she smiled at him.
