Olivia checked the wound on James's head. She cleaned it thoroughly and saw that he didn't even need stitches. There was a very small cut right above his right eye, and she used some silicone dressing to close the gap.  "You'll live" she said. She gave him a tetanus injection and she could see the pain in his eyes.

"Men..." she thought.  "Humanity could be grateful that the survival of the earth did not depend only on men.  If they ever had to give birth, there would be very few people roaming this earth."

"So, are you still up for tonight?" James asked. "We could just grab a burger somewhere and perhaps some coffee."

Olivia smiled at him. "It's rather late, would you mind if I took a rain-check?" I'm freezing to death and after literally running over my blind date, I am just too tired."

James looked a little disappointed, but he understood. Olivia started walking towards the door and then realized that James had no car there, and walked back over to him.  "Where can I drop you off?"

James insisted that he would take a cab, but Olivia insisted and felt rather bad about the whole date going sour."We could do this again Saturday night?" Olive suggested.

"What? You want to try and kill me again?" Olivia smiled.  "No you idiot.  Next time I'll make sure to run over you. So does Saturday work for you?"

James nodded and when they reached the car, he opened the car door for her.  "You really look tired." James said.

" Do you want me to drive?"  Olivia nodded and handed him the keys.  They drove in silence and when they reached the area where he parked his car, James pulled over.

"I'm sorry that things worked out this way."  Olivia said.

"Honestly this was the worst date ever." James said. "I wonder what you're going to do to me Saturday night?"

Olivia just laughed. They exchanged phone numbers, and then said their goodbye's and she drove off. When she got home, she took a warm bath and climbed straight into bed. For some reason she couldn't fall asleep. She kept on thinking about James and the little accident, and she had to admit, that he was a real gentleman, and very handsome. Perhaps her friends were right? This might just turn into a good friendship, but whatever happened, she looked forward to their date on Saturday night.

She woke up the next morning and realized that she overslept.  It was nearly half past six and her shift started at seven o' clock. She jumped up and jumped through the shower. She walked into the E.R at exactly seven o' clock. When she fetched her jacket, she noticed a little note stuck on her locker.

Have lunch with me!

Cafeteria 12h30

James

Olivia hardly ever took lunch, because she was always busy, but today she set the alarm on her phone for 12h15 to make sure that she was in time. At exactly 12h30 Olivia walked into the cafeteria. She wasn't hungry but grabbed a cup of coffee and found a table in the corner. She sat lost in her own thoughts when her cellphone vibrated.

"Sorry, can't make it"

Just that.  No explanation.  She took the coffee and she walked back to the ER without even answering the text.
