Memories of a lifetime- Chapter 21

in #fiction7 years ago

It was a beautiful day for a wedding. Everything looked perfect, and Henry and Alex were both equally excited about the day. They had become very close friends and they couldn't imagine choosing a better day for their wedding. The caterers had set up tables outside down at the river and they even created a dance floor for the guests to dance after the ceremony. There were two separate wedding cakes as to cater for both brides.

Jonathan looked quite nervous but he was honored to fulfill his duties on this day. Soft music played in the backround and the men mingled with the guests while they waited for the brides to arrive. The minister had arrived early and looked quite eager to get this day over and done with. He was used to brides being late, but today was different.  At exactly four o clock the gates opened and the two cars came driving in and parked next to each other in the driveway. Jonathan opened the door for Alicia and she got out.  Caroline helped her with her Vail and within seconds the music started and they were heading down the pebbled path towards her future.

She looked absolutely beautiful and you could see how proud Henry was while waiting for his bride. As soon as Jonathan delivered the bride to the husband to be, he walked back to fetch Lorraine, and when he opened he door he had tears in his eyes. His mother looked absolutely beautiful, and he couldn't believe that he was walking her down the aisle today after the bomb accident the previous year.  He just wanted her to be happy, and he knew that she was doing the right thing marrying Alex.  She was going to have a beautiful happy life with him and that is more than every son could ask for his mother.

It was an extraordinary service and many people shed a tear during the service. It was a happy day for everyone and everything worked out perfectly. Alicia felt honored to have shared this beautiful day with her best friend and the feeling was mutual. Both of them were married now, but the bond between them were going to last a lifetime.

No one went to bed early but just after twelve, Alicia and Henry left for the hotel. They were booked in the honeymoon suite at the Ritz and that was Lorraine's gift to them. Lorraine and Alex wanted to stay at the chateau before leaving the following evening on a destination not yet known to Lorraine. She didn't really care, as long as she was with Alex.

Henry and Alicia had a flight to catch the next day and they did not want to miss it. Before she left she threw her bouquet and none other than Caroline caught it. Chloe laughed and told her that she was getting married next but she shouldn't worry because she would design her dress.

At about two o clock the party quieted down and most guests had left.  The caterers were coming to clean the area in the morning.  The kids opted to go back to Paris to give the newlyweds some alone-time, and by half past two, Alex carried Lorraine up the stairs to their bedroom. Lorraine took a shower and when she came back she found Alex fast asleep in bed.  She laughed at him and climbed into bed next to her new husband. She kissed him on the forehead and knew that they had their whole lives together.

The next morning when they woke up the caterers were already busy cleaning up and by ten o clock the chateau was restored to it's original beauty. Lorraine finished packing and Alex loaded all the suitcases into the car but did not complain one single time. He was just too amazed and happy that he was married to the most beautiful woman in the world.

Everyone met at the airport just after one o clock.  Jonathan's flight was first, and he was too excited to start his journey.  They all wished him well, and Lorraine made sure that he had enough money so that he did not have to struggle.  It was going to be the adventure of a lifetime.

Alicia and Alex left an hour later to start their honeymoon on some remote island somewhere in Europe and Alicia and Lorraine both cried when they said their goodbyes. Soon it was only Chloe, Caroline and Francois that stayed behind to see off Lorraine and Alex and Francois promised to look after the girls while they were away.  He was going to help them move into their new apartment and Chloe was starting her new job in a week, and she was terribly excited.

There were tears and laughter when they said goodbye, and Lorraine looked back and waved at them, while she walked down the corridor to get on their plane. She still had no idea where they were going but she did not care. All she knew was, that she was happy, and all her children as well as her best friend were happy too.  She was married to the most wonderful man in the world, and nothing could take away her happiness.

-The end-

hahaha, really, I was afraid that happiness would end, as in the last event. Thanks, it was not like that.

Thanks for this great story. I enjoyed it very much.

I had a couple of days without being able to read it often, I confess that it gave me a bittersweet taste when I knew it was the end. Although, I loved the ending because after all that Lorraine lived, I think she deserved to be full of her loves. but at the same time I'm sad, hehehe because I will not know anything about her, the twins, her love with Alex, the carlina and her future love, among all the other characters in this beautiful story that added value to my life as Alice She is a of those sister friends who are always there to not leave you alone in the difficult moments and in the best moments of our lives. I do not know how they do it.

Your story has been very nice. I hope you can publish your book as Lorraine did, as I would like.

AT LEAST EXPERIENCE THE READING OF A NEW STORY, I AM SURE I WILL LOVE THE NEW CHARACTERS. jeje
