Meanwhile, three other guys of the same age joined the blonde pal. They sat down and chewed, not forgetting to discuss military rumors.
Elves finished their rations and when they were about to leave, the blond pal turned to them:
"Maybe we can get acquainted closer?"
"No, thank you," replied Marana. "It's time for us to rest. Good luck to you guys."
"Good night, ladies!"
The other guys also wished the girls to get a good night's sleep. Siala was surprised by this attitude of people towards them, elfies. She was used to being considered less than humans, not acquainted, often even talking rudely. And now they were not just talking with them cheerfully and on an equal footing, but also offered to get acquainted. Apparently, in the south and really quite another relation to the elves.
They marched with Marana into the tents for recruits, where someone had already slept and, having chosen decking, lay down to rest. The cool night seemed so easy. Finally Siala was able to relax. A new acquaintance and communication helped her to escape from the oppressive thoughts about the war. Apparently, the same boys felt like they were chatting all the way here. When there is someone to share the burden, it's a little easier to breathe.
Siala smiled.
"Did you like the guy?" said with a quiet voice Marana.
"No. Well, in a sense, nice of course and pleasant, but I'm not thinking about it. And why do you ask?
"I liked him."
Siala raised herself on the elbow, looking in surprise at the elf who lay beside her:
"Why then you refused him?"
"I'm afraid of losses," Marana said quietly. "I'll just be attached to some pal, or even, don’t let the Creator fall in love with him and then he will perish in a battle. I don’t want these torments. Therefore, I don’t get acquainted with anyone."
"But you got acquired with me," Siala smiled a little.
"You seemed to me somehow lost. I thought it would be nice to cheer you up. Yes, and I still have to communicate with someone. And a friend-elf-healer is much more suitable for me."
