Shaniqua said "That’s fascinating. That’s the way we are built?”

“Yes ma’am” Jenny said.

“Now I’m confused” I said.” If that’s true, and I have no doubt that it is, what’s changed.”

“Nothing yet.” but it might if you get married. Truly married, in the Biblical sense”

“You mean the part where it says ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and shall cleave to his wife and the two of them shall be one flesh’?” I said, having accessed the internet to find the exact quote.

“Exactly correct sir. That would be from Matthew, supposedly written a couple of thousand years ago. An earlier version, in Genesis, written much longer ago than that says " Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Jenny said.

“But..but..but.” Shaniqua said..

“You’re doing it too now M’lady, Just like he does. " Jenny said "Good start already.”

Shaniqua blinked. "What I mean, doesn’t that just mean sexual intercourse?”

“Nope” I suddenly realized. " Humans had Quintessence before the Alien invasion. That means they had ASSes too.. What you are saying is that you must merge with Shaniqua’s Ass? If we marry?”

“ If you truly marry, not the pale shadow they call marriage today, that would be correct sir” Jenny agreed.

“I don’t HAVE an Artificial Stupid System” Shaniqua said.

“Then I won’t have to merge, will I, M’Lady?” Jenny said " I can be your ASS too.”

We were both dumbfounded at that.

“Typically speaking Augmented humans both have Asses when they marry. Sir and M’Lady. They would have had them since before birth. Your happy occasion is rather unique.” Jenny said.

“It hasn’t happened in over ten thousand years” Kitty said.

And she was gone.

Shaniqua didn’t flinch quite so badly. She was getting used to it.

“So you’re telling me that our choice is to either wait, let Shaniqua’s molecular cybernetics grow to the point that it can support an ASS then wait for the ASS to mature which you will then merge with or chose you now?” I asked Jenny.

“That would be correct sir.” she agreed.

"WAIT a minute!” Shaniqua was almost in tears. "Isn’t a baby ASS just that? A baby?”

“Just so My Lady” Jenny agreed.

“Before it could merge with you it would have to be mature?” Shaniqua repeated what I’d just said.

“That is also true M’lady” Jenny agreed.

“That means I’d live with it, nurture it, watch it grow into an adult only to lose it?” Shaniqua WAS crying. I could tell even through the veil.

“In a manner of speaking that would be correct M’lady’ Jenny agreed.

“And I would lose you too.” I said.

Shaniqua looked at me in horror, then at Jenny. " Is that true?”

“Yes M’lady” Jenny said "I suppose it is.”

“Well there is NO question!” Shaniqua declared. She looked at me with fire in her eye.

“That would be up to you to decide.” I told Shaniqua. "I’d hate to lose Jenny, but you, as my wife comes before any other. Even my own flesh and blood.”

“We accept your offer.” Shaniqua told Jenny.” When do you start?”

“As soon as I make some minor adjustments to your molecular circuitry. Ah...that did it. She can move in any time Jenny.” Kitty said..

And she was gone.

“Will I notice any difference?” Shaniqua asked.

“Not a thing M’lady. It’s already happened. Now I will be with you 24/7 until you die. The same as I am with the master.” she sounded content. "I am so grateful that you let me live.”

Shaniqua and I looked at each other. We didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

“Do you have any of that MoonShine?” Shaniqua asked " I feel that I could use some.”

“Me too.” I agreed.

“Coming right up, M’lord and M’lady.” Jenny said as two whisky glasses full of a clear liquid floated into our hands.

We toasted and drank.

“WAIT a minute” Shaniqua said. "Did Jenny say that augmented humans had ASSes from BEFORE birth?”

“I think so” I said.” Pass me the bottle please.”
