#30: Levi - Love in a Canoe...Beer

“I know what you mean.” Levi said “Love in a canoe beer, I never really liked it. What’s the point?“

Keith snorted beer through his nose. Corey grinned. Levi pretended to be innocent.

“Oh my” Keith said between munching on handfuls of popcorn. “Will you look at that.”

A line of police in full battle-rattle were carefully, tiptoeing across their front yard. They seemed to be going toward Levi’s house. They were trying to be sneaky and were failing miserably. They looked ridiculous.

It was funny.

Now it was Corey that snorted beer out his nose.

“Let’s move our chairs around so we can see this.” Levi said suiting action to words.

While Keith and Corey were rearranging the deck chairs Levi pulled some odd looking gadgets out of the little basket and nonchalantly tossed them over the porch railing. Oddly enough they flew away.

The cops were shouting at each other and doing all kinds of Swattie things, ten four, ooh rah and stuff, finally they were ready. About that time two or three police cars and a bread truck pulled up and stopped directly in front of Levi’s house.

“GO!.” One of the officers shouted, the arrival might have been a signal “GO!Go!go!go!go!go!”

“BOOM!, BOOM, BOOM, BOOMITY BOOM BOOM “ the sound of grenade launchers from the cars. Flash bang grenades sailed through the air and impacted on Levi’s front windows…..

The cops, guns at the ready, in single file, trampled Levi’s flowers as they rushed up the front walk and onto the porch steps. Odd that. The rosebushes were well out of their way. All they’d had to do was stay on the walk. For some reason they felt the rose bushes needed to be stomped flat. The first two swatties were carrying a battering ram between them. They hit the front door with it at about the same time the grenades hit the windows, perfect timing.
