came to a stop in front of the Quonset Barn. A pair of plainclothes detectives exited the car and walked to the front door. Sally, dressed as usual, and wearing a veil as was her custom, was there to greet them.
"Gentlemen!” She said " What may I do for you? A meal perhaps? The entertainment doesn’t start for another few hours.”
“What kind of entertainment is that?” one of them seemed honestly curious.
“Wrestling” Sally said. "This is ladies night.”
“Ladies get in half price?” one of them asked.
“No” Sally said .”Ladies fight night. Sometimes referred to as "The Bitch’s Night Out’. I admit that some of them can be, but mostly it’s just women and young girls having a good time. Mostly just wrestling.”
“Mud wrestling?” The other one said.
“You know?” Sally said "I never thought of that. Good idea. It might be something to try. In reward for that little tidbit your coffee is free. Would you like a table?”
“yeah...I guess we’ll take a table” One said.
“Follow me please.” Sally said.
“Uh...this isn’t a social visit.” one said "we have some questions. We need to see the manager.”
“Drinking coffee won’t stop you from asking questions” Sally replied. "Let me see you to a seat first and I’ll see that he knows that you want to speak with him. If wishes to see you he’ll be along shortly. Otherwise you can drink your coffee and leave when ever you wish.”
One of the detectives looked at the other then turned to Sally and said "I don’t think you understand. We’re the police. He has to talk to us.”
“He has to do no such thing.” Sally said, beginning to get mildly irritated. "not unless you have a warrant. Do you?”
“If that’s the way you want to play it we can certainly get one.” One of the detectives said.
“Then I suggest you got get it. " Sally told him "I retract my offer of coffee. You are no longer welcome here. Now leave.”
The two cops looked at each other again. One of them started to speak.
“You heard the lady.” Roy said.
The two detectives looked up..and up.. and UP....to see something out of the Arabian nights...something very tall, very large...and VERY muscular. Possible a Djin and not as portrayed by Disney either. Roy was NOT in a good mood.
They left.
“That went well.” Roy said.
“Ya think?” Sally replied.

Sometimes I also comment on the news
Sometimes it's hard to tell fiction from the news.
All they had to do was be nice and polite. All they had to do was quietly drink their coffee until the manager had time to see them. It's not as if they really had anything else to do.
I just thought of something. Isn't the Quonset hut on Indian lands? You have to be either reservation police or federal law enforcement to enter and be an asshole.
yup...it is and they do.
as they are going to shortly find out.
(nods) I thought I remembered that. (sits down and gets a bucket of popcorn.) This should be good.
Great stuff of writing amazing! I will read your previous stuff too.
