Closure | 100 Word Story
She sat quietly on the roof, staring at the sky and listening to the wind. Yesterday was the pills, and the day before that had been the needles. She had swallowed them without letting herself think. Her fingers did the work with the syringes. She stopped counting a long time ago. She believed in the beginning. Endless therapies gave her hope. The doctors reassured her, but all had been a lie. They failed to tell her she was dying. They hid the consequences of the attacks while smiling at her everyday. Not that it mattered. Today, she stopped being a burden.
