THE PERFECT FOOD...MOTHER'S MILK #fff

in #fff5 years ago (edited)

Happy Friday all my foodie friends, hope everyone survived the Holidays. The food coma was going around, I hope you managed to avoid it.

We had quite a week, Santa came to town and spoiled all the kiddies with lots of toys and Christmas joys. But the big bonus for our #family was the birth of our grand daughter Jordyn Olivia weighing in, at 7 lbs. 13 oz., all of 20 inches long.
So tiny and perfect. But let me tell you, she has one good set of lungs.

Came into this world "Hangry", stole that word from @jlsplatts, but it was a perfect word to describe Jordyn, she was so hungry that it made her angry, hence HANGRY.

Well, my beautiful daughter in law solved that problem real quick. Fed that little one the perfect food...Mother's Milk.
Perfect temperature, no waiting for preparation, no additives, chemicals or toxins, just warm sweet milk that only a mother can provide. Breast feeding provides so many benefits for the newborn as well as the mommy.

What are the Health Benefits of Breastfeeding?
Breastfeeding protects babies from infections and illnesses that include diarrhea,...
Breastfed babies are less likely to develop asthma.
Children who are breastfed for six months are less likely to become obese.
Breastfeeding also reduces the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

There is no doubt in my mind that breastfed babies are healthier, more content, sleep better and enjoy a bonding with their mommy that is hard to describe, I would say priceless.

It's a shame that only about 30% of new mothers breastfeed. I am sure there are many different reasons for not doing so, like going back to work, social discomfort, lack of support or feeling overwhelmed by the whole experience.

I myself never even thought of NOT breastfeeding, the benefits just completely out weigh any doubts I may have had. It's the perfect food, high in protein, low in sugar, easily digested and it's always at the right temperature. And it's FREE.
Health benefits are so numerous, for instance, the 'First Milk" called colostrum, not only provides the infant with the perfect nutrition but it also provides immunoglobulin A (lgA) antibodies for the baby. #naturalmedicine

A nursing mother also gains enormous benefits, like weigh loss, bonding with the infant and uterine contraction from chemical reactions that occur from having the baby suckle.

Mother's Milk really is the perfect food. What a gift you give to your child and to yourself. There is NO substitute.
A milk drunk baby, what more can you ask for, God knew what he was doing when he created woman.

Good Luck
and
Have a
!BEER

Congratulations! She's a beauty. 💜

Oh thanks so much, we are in love with her. Such a blessing.

You need to stake more BEER (6 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)

Thanks for the info. I will try to figure it all out soon.
Just wrapped up a 2 week stint away, helping with grand kids. So now that I am home again in a nice quiet house, I may be able to get it together with beer staking.
Enjoy your day.

Congratulations with your granddaughter.

About the benefits I am not so sure still I think it is what mother nature has meant it for. I have been breaszmtfeeding for 2 years, no other food and my children have allergies for sure. I doubt there is proof these children have a better weight since being overweighted is starting way later and has to do with hormons, mental.state of mind, dna etc too.
There are plenty of cry babies under the breast feeded ones too and what you forgot to mention is that it is not allowed to give vaccinaties to children who are breastfeeded.

Where are you from? All breastfed children most certainly are vaccinated.
But I do agree, some babies just like to cry.
Thanks for stopping in.

I am from the Netherlands. The country where it is normal to deliver a baby in a natural way at home and where breastfeeding is still common and advice and midwife's do the delivery. They are the specialists. With us breastfeeding babies are not vaccinated. They already get from the mother. After you stop you can start with it. Happy day. 💕

Hello again @wakeupkitty, that's very interesting, the Netherlands. Yes there is so much benefit from natural childbirth and breastfeeding, I think it's the only way to go. Thanks for stopping back in, it's nice to meet you.

@farm-mom You are welcome. I hope taking care of your own child will be promoted more too. ❤️

Oh yes, totally agree. I stayed home with all my 4 children during the day, then when my hubby came home, I worked second shift at the hospital, my children were brought up by us. We didn't want day care for our kids. We wanted them to know our values and rules.

@farm-mom And that is what is important. Happy day ❤️

Love i t @farm-mom, (but that is what farm mom's do!) I gotta story to tell you sometime about my late birth and breastfeeding, but you'll have to remind me

Hey @jerrytsuseer, Happy New Year!
Would love to hear are about your beginning.
My grand children bring so much joy into my life, they make me feel young again.
Have a great day, thanks for popping in.

Good Morning @farm-mom (is it Robin? just curious)
The aspect of breastfeeding is what I specifically was thinking about when I said that about 'remind me'.
I also have a serialized post that goes all the way back to my mama's childhood (which she wrote down) up to my childhood.
I'll post the links if you like.

But RE: the breast feeding.
I am the youngest of 10, each parent had 2+2 (boys and girls), each one's partner died.
Daddy's first wife died about a month (or less) after their 4th child was born, ie daddy had an infant who needed a mama.
Mama's family were a farm family, very poor, and when her husband became seriously ill, then died, paying all the bills meant selling all the livestock and chickens; they were destitute.
So Daddy and his 4 married Mama and her 4. My sister Linda was born almost exactly one year later, making it 9.
The Dr's told mama that her uterus had folded over so that no eggs could get in there; she needn't worry about getting pregnant.
8 yrs went by when mama started gaining weight, she went to the Dr to find out why; "well Margaret, you're PREGNANT". She was almost 40 when I was born in 1955, rather old for a woman who'd already given birth 5 times to be having a child.
So in those ensuing 8 yrs between Linda and me, Mama and Daddy were free to have sex as much and as often as they liked, and daddy liked.
He especially liked my mama's ample bosom, so when it was discovered that she was pregnant, and would be lactating, daddy (who didn't want any mother's milk) got with the Dr (remember, this is 1955) and they gave mama something that prevented her from producing milk.
I was raised on other women's breasts but mostly formula.
So there you have that part.

Let me know if you want to read the rest of those writings by my mama @farm-mom.

Hey @jerrytsuseer, what an interesting story, 10 children wow, I came from 7, with the same parents, But having each of your parents lose their spouse, young, must have been so difficult. I sure would like to read some more, send the link please. And yes, my name is Robin and I was born in 1954, so I know everything was so different than it is today.
Have a great day!

Right on. I think one of us misspelled her name. 5 to 1 odds it was me.
But I'll bet I'm right on the height.

Miss you kid, see you tomorrow.

Good night.

I think I saw you spell it differently somewhere, just looked but couldn't find it...You might as well just take the blame anyway. Lol.

Ok one more time, JORDYN OLIVIA and I checked with Derrick, she was 20 inches.
So you got both wrong. hehehe
Can't wait to see you!!

Ok, so I'm wrong on both accounts, but did you have to rub it in.😢

Boobs are so handy.

:)

You bet they are, multi-purpose. hehe

Haha, well to be honest I wasn't sure how you'd take that comment. Meant in a tongue in cheek manner of course...Obviously you get that. :)

hehehe hey I wasn't born yesterday, we got 'em and you guys want 'em.

Dang it...Now the secrets out!

hahahaha you kill me

Hey, before you die...Do you use steempeak? I have been trying to log on but I get an error message. Wondering if it's globally.

I use steempeak now but have errors with every other app

Congratulations for this beautiful and perfect baby

Oh thanks so much @denissemata, she is cute as a button and doing really well.
Thanks for stopping in. Enjoy your day.

@farm-mom, I know a happy grandma #7 when I see one. Jordan is adorable—congratulations.

Good luck in round 76.

Good evening @dandays. What a couple of weeks it has been. Christmas, Jordyn's birth, my #2 son's birthday (the big 4-0) party. A family reunion/ 1st birthday of my grand-niece and a visit with my sister who came in from Florida.
Phew! I am exhausted.
Hope you and @puravidaville are doing well. I am assuming you are back to the UK or will be soon and hopefully find some answers for pura's troubles.
Nice to hear from you friend.

Back in the UK, just got in late last night. @farm-mom, you must be exhausted, I had to take a nap just reading all of those festivities stacked on top of each other!

Way to set an example you guys! And I’m not just talking about the farm, this platform as well.

Good afternoon, you two must be exhausted also...thanks for always getting back to me @dandays, and for always leaving such kind words. My family is awesome, you would probably love my kids, they are all so cool. They always show mama bear lots of love.

She is so beautiful! Congrats on a happy healthy well fed new graddaughter! !Tip
