“Oops!!! I Did it Again!” E.D.I.F. - Round 33

Three weeks ago I introduced you to a contender in the shape of a fish, the whole fish, and nothing but the fish—red snapper to be exact, remember? In case you have a selective memory tough time remembering things, like Moi, 😉 here’s a friendly reminder. Now then... what was I saying?? 🤔

Hm... I just had it—danget! Fish something... Contender something or other... Selective memorrrrr—got it! Happy favorite Friday of the week! Welcome back to kitchen #fff, a joint where #food outweighs the rules by a little lotta bit—but! I’m not just another pretty face Britney Spears fan who’s X’ing crossing everything out, the title of this contender means I ordered another red snapper. The difference between the last one and this one, other than the three week separation I reminded you of in the opening sentence, is the difference between a grill and an oven. This one’s fried in the spirit of foodfight-fried-a @foodfightfriday!

Alright, well, this isn’t going to come as a surprise to most of you and, to anyone in #steemit land who may be tuning into this #blog for the first time, here comes some bean spillage—my #fff contenders aren’t always equipped with ingredients and instructions. Unless, of course, things like restaurant descriptions and driving directions count. 👍🏿

This food fight contender is from Playas del Coco (Coco Beach) in Costa Rica—a beach town in Guanacaste Province on the Pacific Coast. I didn’t read it somewhere or anything like that and I didn’t take a picture of it, this is just a guess, but I think Coco Beach got its name from the dark, coffee-colored coast line. What I did take a picture of is my lunch plate when I was finished just to show you I couldn’t stand it—nah, I didn’t like it at all!

@puravidaville and I had lunch at Coconutz Sports Bar & Restaurant earlier this week, possibly on Monday, but don’t quote me on that! It might’ve been Tuesday—it was either Monday or Tuesday. I went upstairs for this shot of the restaurant with everyone huddled up in the shaded seats. It was between 35-37 C on this day in early March.

They had eight beers on tap, I haven’t had a beer since I got here—I can’t remember the last time I had a beer now that I’m trying to remember. 🤔 I know I haven’t had a drink since August 2nd, 2014, but it’s probably been about a year since I had a beer. Anti liquor, me, personally? Si—I suck at it!! Anti beer? No, I just haven’t felt like it for awhile. So, rather than a flight or a bucket, I got a pitcher picture of the tap handles—I’ll explain their significance next.

We didn’t know it at the ahora we sat down but Coconutz is also a brewery, those tap handles say Angry Goats Brewery. It’s the uno with seis stills downstairs tu pass en route a el bano—this uno:

On our way back to Playa Potrero, our location for another two weeks, we decided to take an alternate route provided by Waze even though the original Waze route required four wheel drive in two different locations just to get to Coco Beach. That isn’t too uncommon—the majority of the roads along the coast of Costa Rica are what someone from Los Angeles refers to as “dirt bike trails,” whereas here, they’re just roads. The alternate route required four wheel drive, not once or twice, but the entire time at a top speed of less than 10mph—it was great! The only thing that could’ve made the drive better is streams, rivers, and a terenchal downpour but those aren’t scheduled to begin until the end of next month—I’ll keep you posted!

I saw this tree stump (if that’s what you want to call it), it was massive! We stopped so I could get a picture of it—it was hollow and looked really cool. Without a reference, the camera couldn’t capture the size of the thing so I walked around it and, no, I’m not peeing! I’m just standing there so you can see how big the stump is (if that’s what you want to call it). I stand 1.86 metros high tall.

We made it back to Potrero from our day at Coco just in time to enjoy another picturesque sky from the view of our front porch as the sun rested for the evening—this view:

Oh, the cattle! I almost forgot to show you the bulls and heifers. <— I had to look that word up just now. You see, around here, people don’t go around branding livestock. It isn’t a common practice to raise, own, and/or eat a lot of the animals that many societies across our globe have evolved to consuming. Just like stray cats and stray dogs that roam the streets, when you’re down here, nine degrees from the equator, there’s stray everything: horses, pigs, donkeys, cows, they’re all animals (stray animals) and each of them roam the streets—nobody owns them. They all come and go wherever and whenever they want just like you and I; streets, fields, parking lots, even the beaches! Yes, the beaches, too—look. I wouldn’t bull 💩 you!
