鎮花祭は無病息災、五穀豊穣を祈願するお祭りで、3日間とも祭典中、舞殿にて氏子崇敬者の童女による花しづめ舞が奉奏されます。
桜の花の咲く頃は様々に生命が冬籠りから起きますが、病気や種々の災害も起こりやすい為、疫病を鎮め、また桜が長く咲く年は豊作であるという事からいつまでも花が散らぬようにと祈ります。7日の大祭には緑、紅、白の菱餅の上に桜花を乗せてお供えします。
