Feathered Friday: Juncos
Today is #featheredfriday hosted by @keithboone. Let’s show him a feathery day!
This week my featured bird is the Junco.
Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T6

The cute little sparrow birds called Juncos are one of the most common birds in North America and can be found across the continent.
Some Juncos retreat further north when spring comes but these Juncos seem to stay around all year here in the forest by the house.
I often see a pair of them flitting around the trees when I am walking in the forest and sometimes they will show up in the backyard to check for any food I have put out for the birds.

A funky edit of the 1st photo.

Lovely Juncos! Mine will be leaving soon to go further north and won't return until the snow starts to fall next winter.
You will miss the cute little birds but they will be back, Melinda.
There are a couple Juncos that stay here around the forest all year for some reason. Normally they like a more northern climate when the temperature rises.
It is fun that the up north birds think this is south! And all my summertime birds think this is too far north and they head further south! It is a constant rotation!
Such a beautiful little birds and you got great shots of them
Thanks so much JJ. Have a great weekend.
Most welcome and you to have a good weekend
haha! hey I like that photo edit!
That bird can't stand there, that's the Bluejay's perch!
Haha thanks Cowboy. The Blue Jay’s don’t like it when other birds and the squirrel takes over their modelling post.
oh really? lol...what do they do, fly around and sqwak about it?
They will bomb-dive them. Mainly it’s the squirrel they fly at. He knows it and will take cover when he sees the Blue Jays flying in towards the deck.
haha! that is so interesting. It would be fun to watch as long as they're not really hurting anyone, just scaring the squirrels. those Bluejays are ornery and fiesty aren't they? lol.
