In Islam, there is a recommendation to fast three days of sunnah every month, known as Ayyamul Bidh. Ayyamul Bidh is fasting on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every month in the Hijri calendar (Qamariyah month).

This fast is highly recommended because there are many hadiths that mention the virtues of this sunnah fast. One of them is a hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah, in which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

"Fasting three days every month is like fasting throughout the year." (HR. Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

This three-day fast is considered to have great value because every good deed in Islam is multiplied tenfold, so that fasting three days is counted as fasting for a whole month.

In addition to fasting Ayyamul Bidh, there are also other forms of sunnah fasting that can be done more often, such as fasting Monday-Thursday. However, for those who are unable to do it routinely, fasting three days every month is a very good and beneficial choice.
