Diseases that affect your plants

Hello, dear community of @farms, in this opportunity I am going to present an article on the diseases that affect the plants.

Plant diseases can be defined as a response that cells and tissues have to environmental factors or to pathogenic microorganisms. These diseases produce changes in the function, shape and structure of the plant.

These diseases can be caused by fungi, bacteria and viruses. When it comes to a disease caused by fungi, there is a high probability of fighting them and being successful. However, when it comes to viruses or bacteria, the situation becomes a bit more difficult. For this reason, if it is not treated in time, it could seriously affect our crops.

Among the most common diseases that can affect our plants we have:

Oídio:

This one is produced by a fungus. These can be identified because they form white spots that look like dust, but when you try to shake it, you can not. As a curious fact, this fungus thrives in no need of humidity and endures cold seasons.
If we observe that the plant has these dusty white spots, it will be necessary to eliminate the leaves, buds, stems, flowers ... that are affected. It is also possible to spray the plant with sulfur powder.

Anthracnose:

Affects a wide variety of plants (ornamental, fruit trees ...). It is possible to identify it, because it appears in the form of dark spots that, later on, will look like a burn and end up drying.
The leaves affected by these injuries must be removed in time. To save the plants it is possible to spray it with fungicide products based on copper.

Boldness:

Tis disease is produced by insects such as woodlice, aphids and whiteflies. These insects to feed on plants insert their peaks in the leaves or stems and then excrete a substance rich in sugars that will create the ideal environment for the bold to thrive.
Its appearance is of a black powder that could affect the functions of the plant. Its appearance is slow, will depend on the appearance of insects. It can be fought with a wash with water and detergent. However, it is necessary to be careful with the excessive use of this soapy water as it could affect it.

Brotitis:

Is a fungus that produces brown spots, in addition to a gray mold that can be lethal to plants. Its proliferation depends on warm and humid temperatures. At the beginning, these spots usually appear as light, damp spots on the leaves, flowers, fruits and then turn brown. This is rapidly expanding. When the gray mold characteristic of this fungus appears, the fruit will no longer work.

Roya:

source

Are points of red, orange or brown and when touched have a relief. It is frequent in plants such as geraniums, vegetables, and roses. It attacks the stems and leaves until they fall. For its eradication it is advisable to use special fungicides for rust. Eliminate and destroy the affected parts.

Root rot:

This is produced by a fungus. It is known because the leaves turn yellow until they wilt and dry. This disease advances to the roots causing serious damage to them. The best way to prevent this disease is by preventing it, but if it appears constantly you can use some fungicide to try to fight it.

In conclusion

The best way to control that our plants get sick is to observe them in order to fight them promptly. It is always advisable to look for information on fungicides that are friendly to the environment and our plants*.
