More evidence that the CPS worm is turning. Keep SOCIAL MEDIAing THE HECK out of their injustices and crimes!

in #familyprotection6 years ago (edited)

We've had some "good news/ feel good" stories lately on this blog regarding the fight for parental rights and justice for families against the machinations of the so-called "Child Protection" "Services" (CPS) systems in America. These are largely isolated anecdotes to this point, however, and we are only beginning to gain ground in the battleground of public opinion and awareness. Much more needs to be done.

Fortunately, there are some fairly organized groups out there now with some organization and clout around which like-minded resistors can coalesce and work together to force real changes. One of the better-organized and active groups, nationally, is parentalrights.org. Check out this article/news release by these fine folks:

http://parentalrights.org/changing-the-culture/

These folks are on the ball, too, with regard to one of the best methods to force change...i.e. model legislation, backed by people descending on their State Capitals ( specifically, the place where there legislators offices are located) and meeting with potential sponsors of said legislation. Here is an excerpt from the link above about that:

"We have urged changes to the Adoption and Safe Families Act (ASFA) and the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), two federal laws that pay states to take children unnecessarily and return them only at a snail’s pace. We have lobbied (and continue to lobby) for doing away with “anonymous reporting” (remember, only 4% of such calls have any merit anyway!) and replacing it with “confidential reporting,” where at least law enforcement knows who called.

We have lobbied states across the country to change their laws for the good of families, and a dozen states have done so. Utah’s brand-new law, which makes clear not only that parents can choose to give their children a reasonable measure of freedom as they mature, but also that poverty does not constitute neglect, sets an example for many other states to follow. And just last month, for the first time in our history, we lobbied a sitting President when we urged President Trump’s Administration to act on behalf of Amy and Tyler Jakobsen in Norway."

The rest of the article/news release is a must read also as it does a good job of summarizing much of the anecdotal evidence that we are gaining ground. Several of the incidences they relate have actually been covered previously in this blog, and there are many other compelling vignettes you will want to to check out.

Perhaps the most important element in all this is the proposed "Parental Rights Amendment." Here is a wikipedia link about that:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_Rights_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

Here is an excerpt which highlights what this Constitutional Amendment calls for:

"The current language (as proposed in S.J.Res.36) is as follows:

SECTION 1
The liberty of parents to direct the upbringing, education, and care of their children is a fundamental right.

SECTION 2
The parental right to direct education includes the right to choose, as an alternative to public education, private, religious, or home schools, and the right to make reasonable choices within public schools for one's child.

SECTION 3
Neither the United States nor any State shall infringe these rights without demonstrating that its governmental interest as applied to the person is of the highest order and not otherwise served.

SECTION 4
The parental rights guaranteed by this article shall not be denied or abridged on account of disability.

SECTION 5
This article shall not be construed to apply to a parental action or decision that would end life.

SECTION 6
No treaty may be adopted nor shall any source of international law be employed to supersede, modify, interpret, or apply to the rights guaranteed by this article."

(A typical earlier version.)

This is the current language, and it is weaker in some ways than earlier versions, but also has a strong statement aimed at preventing the Senate from ever adopting the "U.N. Convention of the 'Rights' of the Child"-- a very good thing. Constitutional Amendments are problematic, though, for a couple of reasons. The first is that they are very difficult to get passed, and must be ratified by 2/3 of the States. (That's why we haven't had one for quite awhile.) Also, there is a very shady effort to call for a so-called "Constitutional Convention" (euphemistically referred to by patriots as a "Con Con.") Usually terms limits or a balance budget have been, historically, the cause celebre for calling said conventions, but there is no way to limit what the convention would do, once assembled; and many fear that the real cause would be to, essentially, re-write the Constitution altogether, with modern politicians' "wisdom" replacing that of our founding fathers.

Still, if the Parental Rights Amendment can get enough traction to pass on a one-off basis, then it would probably be a very beneficial situation, as laws would have to be re-written to bring them into line with the new re-emphasis on parental rights v.v. those usurped by the state. Perhaps, even more importantly, just the national discussion and publicity surrounding a serious ratification effort would shed a plethora of lies and subterfuge from the current CPS carcass and expose all its multiple evils for public consumption.

Please do take the time to read and share the article/news release cited at the outset of this blog entry, and keep an eye out for Parental Rights efforts in your state. You can sign up to be on their mailing list at parentalrights.org, and I urge everyone to do so, as well as to support such organizations in anyway you can.

God bless the families and the children, and those who work to protect them from a rapacious emerging nanny state.

Thank you, Mr. Patrick!

Great to see more actions and progress in changing and enforcement of laws for parental and children's rights. Keep up the great work. Resteemed.

Sounds good, but about section 3 I have my doubts... to be honest I have about all of it. Parents do have the right to... but they simply say you had your change or say you are mentally ill or...

Yea, it's weak, but it would be debated to death, and hopefully strengthened prior to actual ratification. But, admittedly, it will take a sea change in the type of person we are sending to Congress first.
