Splinterlands: Gold foil cards will most likely become way more valuable by tomorrow!
Not every investment I made on the Steem blockchain has worked out the way I thought it would go.
But @steemmonsters aka. Splinterlands is not one of them!
Here's a post I made 8 months ago.
I figured it was a good idea at the time to start collecting Alpha Gold Foil Common cards.
The cards haven't lost much value in USD while the STEEM I bought them with did (always a silver lining somewhere!).
This is a part of my Alpha Gold Common Collection.
The reason I'm happy is because of Splinterlands latest announcement!
Dark Energy Crystals are about to be unleashed!.
What it comes down to is that without altering any of the Stats on the Gold Cards by the dev team they will become way more valuable by tomorrow.
Why?
Playing with Gold Foil cards will allow you to collect more Dark Energy Crystals, the new in-game currency.
And when you choose to destroy the gold foil cards you will be rewarded with considerably more energy than their regular counterparts!
And yeah you guessed it, you can buy awesome stuff with those Crystals because Aggroedius and Yabanius sure know how to build an awesome and addictive game.
Yes! That is cool and of course, I want the new stuff.
But I'm also looking forward to what this will do to do Gold Foil prices.

How do you destroy a card? I thought this was referring to combining cards but it looks like that is not the case @exyle ?

You're talking to a poor person here. I don't have many gold foils to burn. Hopefully I can earn some Dark Crystalz and drink potions. :)

i am playing steemmonsters 1,5 months and i've got only 1 common gold card, 2 legendary more epic and rares. Legendaries and gold card was daily quest rewarda
Yes, this is going to be an incredible development. Just as the Tron guys arrive, too.
Also first serious mention of guilds battling bosses in a while. I hear the first one is really tough :)

I am Glad I have No IDEA what this all Means but I just keep buying Cards in the Market Place to make my Deck Stronger.............
I'm glad I've joined the wagon even before game launch; this is for me one of the best projects in the blockchain.... and it just keeps getting better! Amazing work!
