Splinterlands: DEC continues to amaze!
After the introduction of the DEC (dark energy crystals) in-game currency for Splinterlands, the market cap of the game has seen a nice rise.
The market cap of Splinterlands is calculated as follows:
The number of outstanding cards * the amount they were sold for last.
That looks like this.
DEC can be earned just by playing the game but every card in the game can also be burned (destroyed) to release DEC.
DEC can be used to buy powerful in-game items and cards.
The cool thing is that DEC went up in value as well since it's introduction!

4 days ago the price was 0,00241 per DEC and is now 0,00264 per DEC.
DEC is tradable on Steem-Engine.
Last week a ton of cards were burned but the leftover amount of cards still went up in market cap value!

The team will keep adding new use cases for DEC. There are whispers of upcoming GUILDS that will add extra value to DEC.
But one of the latest use cases is a voting bot. here.

Send a minimum of 100 DEC tokens to @splinterlands to purchase a vote from the @steemmonsters account.
Delegate Steem Power to @steemmonsters to earn a portion of the DEC taken in each day for buying votes.
Initially, all DEC earned from the account's existing ~360k SP will be distributed to the delegators to encourage and attract more delegation.
In a way, you could also say that the DEC tokens are now backed by the value of the vote of the @steemmonsters account besides having some base value secured by the value of pack ($2) and also the time and effort of the players of the game.
Pretty cool stuff.
Man, even if you don't play the game, it's hard not to be impressed by the development effort and the speed of implementation of this team.

I bought 250k DEC yesterday to buy Orbs but now I feel like holding them! These last couple of days have been intense as a player with this introduction but excitement continues to build! Had to delegate as well to get some more DEC daily!

Tomorrow they expect to see the real numbers. I'm considering delegation too. Let's see.
I delegated 500 SP and see about 15 DEC in my Steem Engine Wallet today. However, it was not a full day so let’s see how it goes from here.

The @steemmonsters team is doing a great job of showcasing the ability of dapps on Steem blockchain.
They just seem to be going from strength to strength.
I even went on Steem Engine today and bought some DEC token when I read the steemmonsters post letting us know it was available.
Not that you need a reason to play Steem Monsters but DEC is definitely an incentive.

I delegated 100SP to @steemmonsters, to see how much DEC I get. They've done a great job, I hope it becomes popular with Tron users as well and maybe EOS one day? I like the cross crypto integration but keeping it on the Steem blockchain. I bought some monsters with Tron and it was as easy as using Steem.
I remember when I first joined in December 2017, there were not many ways to grow your account and acquire STEEM (for free), now it's ridiculous how many opportunities I've faced last few months...
Wow there's so much going on with steeemmonsters/Splinterlands right now. I didn't know DEC was tradeable on steem-engine. Thanks for the info!
