Ethereum Flash Crash
The price of ethereum crashed as low as 10 cents from around $319 in about a second on the GDAX cryptocurrency exchange on Wednesday. Ethereum is an alternative digital currency to bitcoin and had been trading as high as $352 on Wednesday. It has since rebounded from its flash-crash lows to trade to about $325 on the GDAX exchange.
GDAX officials seems to have been blaming it on a multi billion dollar sell order. However according to me why would anybody go for a multi billion dollar sell order.
The answer is quite simple, its to manipulate the market. In this crazy period of time which lasted only a few moments some people lost some money while some made billions of dollars in an instant.
GDAX CEO just tweeted out saying that they will investigate this matter while everything goes back to normal.
