Botanical Garden named after academician Fomin. Metro station University. 2019
Today is a wonderful day for a walk, and I decided to start my post at the University metro station. My goal today is to penetrate the territory of the University Botanical Garden named after academician Fomin. This metro station was opened in 1960 and was named the University, because the historical building of the University. Taras Shevchenko is located very close to the kilometer. I have long liked this station, it is decorated with rare varieties of granite and marble. An interesting fact is that there are sculptural works of famous sculptors and artists. Expensive and beautiful design of the metro hall, gives a special look and a special atmosphere.
Busts of great people. These are writers and playwrights such as Alexander Pushkin, Ivan Franko, Grigory Skovoroda, and many prominent people.
The depth of the station is 71.5 meters, there are two escalators for because there are two levels of lift. Between the first and second level you can sit in the lobby.
Friends, I will cover my path further with photos. Here you see a beautiful cafe and music store, all this in very old houses that are already 120 years old.
So we came this sign indicates that we came to the Botanical Garden named after academician Fomin
You see beautiful green nature, there are a lot of trees and shrubs gathered from around the world. I unfortunately not a botanist, so I did not go into the details of green plants. I just admired the beauty and clean air.
This is a monument to students and teachers of the university who went to war in 1941. Patriotic war with the fascist invaders 1941-1945

Lovely. The metro station is very similar in design to the typical London Underground station - if it weren't for the language difference, you couldn't tell the difference until you were outside.
The more colorful blooms (not the white ones) were rhododendrons - so pretty! The other I recognize, but can't name, unfortunately.
