Mt Tamborine.
Mt Tamborine is another favourite Queensland township of mine and I had the pleasure of strolling through the village recently and thought I'd submit part of my walk for this week's Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by my friend, @tattoodjay
Due to the musical connotations of the name, Mt. Tamborine, I thought I would introduce you to one of their local bands to begin my series of blogs about this wonderful place. I was so busy capturing their photos, I completely forgot to catch their name. Very remiss of me I know, but at least I'll have a good excuse to go back to visit again one day soon.
The lead guitarist has obviously experienced a good number of musical festivals in his time and his experience was evident in the way that he could play his guitar with no hands. That takes immeasurable skill to achieve this, as I'm sure you will agree.
Meet the 'Nameless' Band.......A trio of tuneful Tamborine-ites. Contemporary from every angle, these seasoned performers knew how to draw a crowd. Yes. John and I (a crowd of two) waited in anticipation for the band to begin and thanked our lucky stars for our front row seats.
So, while they are sorting out their program, let me tell you a little about Mt Tamborine. This picturesque place is situated approximately 60 kilometres from Brisbane and it sits on the edge of the escarpment behind the Gold Coast. Tamborine Mountain is a unique geological phenomenon due to the fact that it occurred as a result of a lava flow from nearby Mount Warning.
It comprises of a few small villages which stretch across the eight kilometre ridge of the mountain range. Mt. Tamborine has become an ever- increasing popular place to live as residents search for their tree-change and find it here.The hustle and bustle of city life is far enough away to make this area a desirable, semi-rural sanctuary with a mix of modern and cottage type dwellings.
The blue hatted lead singer was warming up her vocal chords, so I'll continue with my Mt. Tamborine blog tomorrow. I don't want to miss a beat.
Many beats later........Night had fallen and the star studded sky created the perfect backdrop for my new found muso friends. Where had the day gone? John and I were so impressed by their performance, that we felt compelled to stay and enjoy this free concert which had extended into the evening.
What the sound and lighting guys did to produce these cool effects was incredible. The stage lit up with each new bracket of songs providing fascinating colors which enhanced mood of the music played.
They ended their performance bathed in dazzling disco lights which matched their funky pop style of music. What a treat! If you'd like to know what else Mt Tamborine has to offer, tune in tomorrow. See you then!

They look a little on the skinny side but they are, after all, starving artists! The guitars look to be in good condition, though.
Oh dear! Now I feel bad for not paying them for their performance. They did look a little lean, now that I come to think of it. 😲
