'The Stained Glass Effect.'

This post features a variety of my artwork using the Stained Glass Effect. All of them were created by applying digital effects to my original photography and I decided to hang them in different rooms of a house to provide an overall visual experience.

BIRD OF PARADISE FLOWER:

It is easy to understand how these tropical flowers were given their name. Their uncanny resemblance to birds of paradise is quite uncanny. Bright orange flowers sit gracefully on top of long, strong stems and when in full bloom they look like colourful birds playing hide 'n seek amongst their large, veined green leaves. They are commonly known as Crane Flowers and Strelitzia is their botanical name and they are native to South Africa.

MAUVE IRISES:

The word Iris means Rainbow because they are available in many colours. Such as blue, purple, white, yellow, pink, orange, brown, red and even black. The two most common types of Iris are the Bearded iris and the Siberian Iris. These flowers are known and loved around the world and they are characterized by their three main petals called standards and their three outer petals called the falls. They grow on strong bamboo-like stems and there are hundreds of species, cultivars and hybrids. The iris fruit is a capsule which opens up in three parts to reveal many seeds within.

CUDDLY TED:

A cute teddy bear clutches a love heart and his image adorns a child's bedroom.

STAINED GLASS TREESCAPE:

I was really happy with the way an ordinary treescape was turned into a contemporary work of art after using digital manipulation to my original treescape photo. It made an ideal wall art feature in this bedroom.

CAMELIA MACRO:

I chose a pink camelia to hang in this office as it made an attractive contrast to the dark grey furnishings and light grey wall.

Camelia is a genus of flowering plants in the Theaceae family and are from eastern and southern Asia, the Himalayas, Japan and Indonesia. The four main types of camellias are Sasanqua, Japonica, Reticulata and the Sinensis. The Japonica is the most recognizable of the four with its dark, glossy leaves and wide smooth petals of various shades.

STAINED GLASS FRANGIPANI:

These beautiful icons of the tropics do not tolerate frost very well and this is why they do well in Queensland, Australia. Frangipani (Plumeria rubra) flowers are so common in this part of the world that I think we can take them for granted.

This plant is a small genus of the dogbane family and there are approximately eight species available. They are native to Mexico, Venezuela and other Central America areas and are a genus of the Plumeria family. The blossoms appear in the summer and bloom well into autumn and their leaves are smooth and shiny.

RADIANT HIPPEASTRUMS:

These bold and beautiful beauties are a genus of approximately 90 species and there are over 600 hybrids of these perennial, bulbous plants. Hippeastrums (common name; Amaryllis) were given their name by William Herbert which means, "Knight's Star Lily."

These beautiful plants are native to tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas from Argentina, north to Mexico and also the Caribbean. the typical colour range is red, pink, and white but the modern hybrids are available in an array of colours which includes pale, translucent yellow. The large, funnel shaped flowers are supported by strong stems and the leaves are quite fleshy and mid-green in colour.

All of them looks astonishing! The stained glass effect seems to be perfect for flowers. And rooms look really chic with your pictures.

Thank you for your comments @zirochka. Much appreciated.

With my pleasure :)

Howdy Trudee! wow, those are remarkable! The way that process makes them look is so cool and then the colors are just amazing. Do you take photos sometimes because you think it will look good after being edited or is it just luck when one looks great?

And where are all these hanging? Usually you don't see rooms with white walls and flooring.

You do ask some tricky questions at times John. 😁 Doing this kind of editing is often very hit and miss. I have to reject some as they don't turn out as I'd like them to.

And those hanging images are done in virtual rooms. They are not real but I'm glad you thought they were. There are apps available with various rooms in them that we can upload our pictures to and position them to our satisfaction and then save as a jpg image. Sorry for the late reply. We've had a lot of internet problems and it's taking me a while to catch up.

Howdy Trudee! oh you guys have internet problems too? I thought Australia was more sophisticated than that! lol... thanks for the information about the paintings, I thought you had a white house! lol.
