Chapter 4

After being summoned by their training coach, Dylan, and fatty Jing rushed towards the training ground. There they saw their coach, and several of their classmates. From the looks of it, everyone from their class was summoned.

Coach Neero is actually their physical education, and battle teacher. But he prefered it if his students call him coach instead of teacher. The students doesn't mind this, and therefore started calling him coach. Thanks to this he is popular to his students.

Seeing the Dylan, and fatty Jing arrived, coach Neero urges the two to join their classmates, of which they complied. After waiting for a little while, everyone in their class are finally gathered. Then the students looked at their coach impatiently. They wanted to know why they are being summoned despite the fact that they are on a break. Some of them even looked annoyed, as if their coach ruined their dates.

Noticing the impatient, and annoyed faces of his students, the sides of coach Neero's eyes twitched. He then cleared his throat and, spoke. "The reason I summoned you all here despite being on your school break is because the date of the inter-school competition had been decided," he said patiently.

The students were startled after hearing what coach Neero said. And like bees, the students buzz with activities.

"Really?"

"Finally!"

"We've been waiting for this!"

"Coach when will the competition start!"

"He's right coach, don't leave us hanging!"

Coach Neero let his students digest the information first before raising his right arm, signaling them to be quiet. "Alright, calm down. I'll tell it to you all even if you did not ask me," he said.

"The competition is two months from now. Therefore, you must prepare yourselves. Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to compete, and I could only choose five of you. As for the rest they will be assigned to support. Of course everyone should have been clear from the start, right?"

The students nods at the question. This had always been the case. Therefore, if they wanted to have the chance to compete they needed to show their abilities.

"Also, don't forget that there are also some talented students from other classes of the same grade, making the competition that much fiercer. And, even if you're choosen from your class, you might just end up as substitue. So don't be complacent after being choosen," Coach Neero added.

Coach Neero then explained that their class selection will be held two days from now and the selection for their grade will be done three days after. Once everything was said, coach Neero dismissed his students.

Dylan, and fatty Jing returned to the dormitory after the meeting. Inside his room, Dylan summoned his shadow. Dylan's shadow then started to squirm and before long a humanoid shadow emerges.

Looking at the humanoid shadow in front of him, Dylan's emotions are quite complicated. Till now he still had no idea how he manages to awaken another ability. Fortunately, he could feel the connection with his shadow, and could summon it at will so he is atleast certain that no one is playing a trick on him.

Anyway, a new ability is always welcome. Especially if one add the fact that his "Misdirection" have no attacking capability whatsoever. Yes, his first ability is "Misdirection", as the name suggest it only have the capability of diverging people's attention away from him. Compared to abilities like Stealth, Hide, and Invisibility, his Misdirection is much weaker.

And though he manages to compensate some of its weaknesses through hardwork, and training, the facts remained that it's just an E-class ability. But now that he have hus second ability, his power will definitely skyrocket!

Dylan contemplated for a while before deciding to test his new ability...

Several minutes later.

"D, damn, this new ability is totally broken!" Dylan exclaimed as he looked at the humanoid shadow with gleaming eyes.

After testing for a while, he discovered that his shadow have the same strenght as him! What's more it could also even use "Misdirection" much better than he could! Lastly, the most terrifying fact about the humanoid shadow is that it's totally invulnerable to physical attacks!

"Shit, shit, this ability is without a doubt a cheat!" Dylan said excitedly, he then said "though I'm not sure if it's invulnerable to energy attacks. It can definitely play those physical ability users to death!"

"Hehe, to think that my shadow is much better than me," he said with glee, but when he realized what he just said he felt depressed. "Wait, the shadow is actually stronger than the original?... shit, this is too depressing, I'm the original for crying out loud! I shouldn't be lossing to my own shadow! That's right, it's my shadow anyway..." Dylan thought as he tries to justify the painful truth, but it didn't stop his tears from falling though...

Snapping out of his depression, Dylan decided to go to the virtual world to train.
