Making the most of your time.
What is our time worth?
Can it be counted in terms of our wages? How much we are worth each hour to the people who employ us.
Is it better valued through our connections? How the time we spend reflects on other people.
What about our accomplishments? The product of our time spent.
Time is a valuable and limited asset so should be appreciated in that way. There is a story from years ago that I have always liked about being given $86400 at the start of every day but any of the money not spent by the end of the day disappeared and was gone forever. The balance would be full again at the start of the next day and every day of your life. So the question would be how would you spend the money every day before it disappeared and went to waste. Obviously it's a metaphor of time and using every second of the day as you cannot get it back but I always like the story.
If I was to calculate the value from the amount of time i spend on STEEM compared to how many dollars I have earned it is about it is probably worth 20c per hour. Sounds bad doesn't it?
That's if you take it solely on time spent. In reality it would be a combination of all of these factors and a lot more. Everything we do on the site has the possibility of rippling outward and effecting a lot more than just what we do but what others do as well.
What we have here is continually evolving and adding new aspects that have the chance to grow in the future.
That 20c might seem like nothing right now but if you put a lot of them together it will all add up. That 20c is based on current prices, not future potential. That 20c doesn't take into account the other value that has been added to your life from the time spent here.
We all have decisions that can be made. We can all spend our time on different projects, hobbies, crypto's and yet we are still here. Even through the terrible year in the markets and other people abandoning ship. I think that says a lot about the value that it has added to our time and ur lives.
Hopefully it will add a bit of value to our wallets at some stage too.
$0.20 is .5 Steem (was almost 1 weeks ago)! I say that is great considering half the world lives on about $5 a day I believe... Great metaphor that always has me thinking of making the most out of my efforts always and with all I do!

True enough. And a lot of us are earning a few STEEM per day at the moment so when it gets back up to a couple of dollars we will be very happy. It's a lot more expensive to live here but it's more than I was making form anything else online. It should be a huge selling point to people in other countries where earning an extra $20 a week would make a huge difference.
