~HOW TO COOK CHOCOLATE RICE~
Hi!! Due to insistent and persistent public demand by @dreemsteem, @eveningart and @twodorks that I'd make a post on how to make Chocolate rice..
But before that, allow me to blabble about it first. Here in our country, the Phililppines, we just love to eat rice. We do eat rice three times a day and more if you have it for snacks too. Yes sir @janton! I am not kidding you about it, we are rice people! We cant let a day pass without eating rice.
Champorado
Champorado aka as Chocolate rice, is just one among many rice recipes we could whip up and make something new out of the ordinary rice. Usually Champorado is best eaten during rainy seasons, just like now. You have to eat it while it is steaming hot to enjoy the savory goodness of it.
Now now now, dont get too excited!
### The Ingredients This recipe only calls for two basic ingredients at all, the others are just so so.. hahaha dont panic its rather a rare recipe!... Yes dear @tamala this should not be too hard to find i am pretty sure of it! 😂... this time i am hoping you would not fail me!
The ingredients really depends on what you have available in your kitchen. Dont go too far we can use whatever is available. No specific brands! Take note of this @tamala.. easy peasy right?
RICE
Rice is the most important ingredient that you must have. Usually, the elders prefer to use sticky or glutinous rice for more flavorful. Yeyyyy for miss @dreemsteem!!
You can either cook up one or use your HISTORICAL RICE! As being history, I meant for leftover rice, the rice you had have from yesterday or the morning of today.. do you have leftover rice? Or you just throw them out?! Oh please dont!! You have no idea what you can do with it..
CHOCOLATE
You read it right! Chocolate is the second main ingredients for this recipe. You may use any kind of chocolate, it all depends on what you have in your pantry. You can use choco powder or chocolate bars of your choice. Here in my hometown, we usually make Champorado out of TABLEAS. It is a Filipino Chocolate made from Cacao, some calls it for chocolate tablets because they are shaped in circle.
However, in this recipe I used Bensdorp Chocolate Chips because I run out of tableas and Berleys Chocolate bars.
### Procedure Have patience ladies, this is rather a very difficult recipe to make. 😉
- Put the 1 cup of rice over the pot. Make sure you had mashed them apart so that they wont be sticking much to each other. Then add in 2 cups of water. Turn on the stove under medium heat.
![image]() - When it starts boiling, add in the chocolate chips. I had used 1 cup chocolate chips. You can use less if you want. But I want mine very chocolatey. Heyyy! Dont shove them all at once, take it slow. Life is sweet if we take things slow, there is no need to rush. - Use a ladle to stir until all are poured down and wait till they are fully dissolve. Dont stop stirring so that the chocolate wont stick at the bottom, nope we dont want that! And its a good arm exercise for you, work it out gurl!
![image]() - You can add in a little bit of sugar. Again, this depends on what kind if chocolate you have used. The recipe must blend with your taste. My choco chips were dark chocolate so its kinda bitter. I dont like to be bitter anymore, I have run past that this week so never on my Chocolate Rice! So i added 2 teaspoonful of sugar.
![image]() - Continue to cook until your rice seems to split in the middle. I dont know if you can see it if you zoom it. Nonetheless, the rice I used is already cooked so no problem with that.. but if you had start from scratch, your rice must be translucent. Continue stirring until you reach your desired consistency.
### TADA!!! ![image]()
Was that hard to make??
Serve them into your favorite bowls while they are still hot.
- You can drizzle over some milk to it. I used evaporated milk here. You can do with what you have. Again, no pressure if you dont want to incorporate milk.. its optional!
- Ooooops! I forgot I dont like bowls on my Champorado, so I transferred it to my plate! Hahaha dont ask why..You can eat it as is or mixed them all up.
- So here is my first spoonful of chocolatey goodness of my version of Chocolate Rice!! Hmmmmm..
That's it guys! I hope you could make one and do tell me what you think of it. I would love to hear all your feedbacks!
Im gonna enjoy my sumptuous plate here.. bye!!
##
I'd never even though of mixing rice into chocolate, we have rice pudding which is rice in a milky sort of sauce - this is very different though I might have to try it.
#thealliance #witness
I think your rice pudding is a cousin to our Chocolate Rice.. though our version of milky or creamy rice is sort of salty not sweet. And we call it arroz caldo.
Yes do try this one one. Let me know if you had like it.. hehe

Oh really?? From where?
Well ampalaya (bitter gourd) is s very healthy vegetable. Most people usually eat this to help lower levels of blood sugar. People with diabetic are adviced to eat this most frequently..

Oh, that looks amazing! My mom would make something similar when i was young, she called it "The Poor Man's Rice Pudding." I had no clue she called it that because we were poor!
I love how things are different and yet so many ways we are the same.
Thanks for sharing this!
Ren

Dammit! NO! I'm already confused.
Should the rice already be made? i.e. 1 cup PREPARED rice with 2 cups water? Or it's 1 cup unprepared rice with 2 cups water? VERY DIFFERENT.
MORE RIDDLING RECIPES! You people are trying to kill me!
At least there are no pepper flakes involved - ALTHOUGH chocolate with cayenne pepper is mighty tastey.... Already thinking about that addition 😉🌶🌶.
Hahahahaha im already laughing 🤣😂.. please dont die yet!
Prepared rice is much better and fast way to use..
Oh yes! I forgot to mention you can add in anything you like.. the pepper flakes is one best option.. darn i mean cayenne pepper! Hahahahaha

So start with prepared rice AND add 2 cups water?
What if you start with unprepared? Or don't do that?
Beware - when I actually try this your DM may start blowing up 😂😂😂
Lol i think you learned your lesson trying weird vague recipes from steemit abd the cooking school of wing it!! 🤣🤣
Posted using Partiko Android
You have a point there👆🏻
Lol sometimes i make some sense instead of just earning them!! 😉
Posted using Partiko Android
🤣
Hahahahahahaha
If you start with unprepared rice you have to cook it separately.. then once it is cooked you get 1 cup of rice there..
Im beginning to get scared!!
🤣😂🤣
Posted using Partiko Android
Be afraid.... Be very afraid.
Hahahahahaha @dreemsteem what did you do to her 🤣😂
