DRAGONFLY on the ROSEBUD 🌹
Hello my Dearest Friends,
Yes, lucky for me, she decided to sunbathe on the rosebud 🌹
I was returning home from my little walk around the block after taking photos of some critters and flowers. I was actually getting quite tired, because I have a back problem and I need it to go home and stretch. Anyway, I forgot all about that when I saw two dragonflies cruising around our neighbor's lot. Although this happened many times before, they usually never sit down.
Except yesterday, one one of them did!!! As I am not very lucky with dragonflies and I am dreaming for a long time about capturing one, I was praying that she would stay until I come closer. I started taking photos as I was approaching her, just in case she flies away and at one point she did, but she came back. I couldn't believe it. It was a miracle!
I am pretty sure she enjoyed the sun so much, that she couldn't care less about me and my camera. She was holding on to that rosebud which made her even more delicate. She looks like piece of fine jewelry. After I finished the photo shoot, my neighbor came out and while we talked, the dragonfly was still there. I saw her flying a way as was coming to our driveway.

I absolutely love dragonflies, they are so ethereal, the larvae are very voracious and called "Nymphs" and live by water, I think it's such a great metaphor, ow they became graceful flying ethereal creatures to emerge from the pond

Oh my goodness! I remember, two years ago, I took photo one White tale and she was very far, like this. And by the time I came closer she was gone. But I really wish that she will come back to you. Thank you so much Katie. Lots of people take great photos of them with mobile. I think with these creatures it's all about luck 😍

Oh yes, other photographer would, but regular people on the street already think I am crazy, lol.

Well, I am very happy with them, but since she was sitting there so long I felt I didn't take enough advantage, lol. Altough I took lots of shots of her, but I picked only the best ones. You know how it is 😊

Wow! So glad that the drag decided to return and to make your wishes come true my friend. It looks like one of the Dropwing varieties, but I am not sure, as I only know the drags that we have over here.

Honestly, I was so happy about finally capturing one, that I didn't even bother looking up in Goggle for her name, lol. However, since you brought it up, I did and I found out that this is "Prince Baskettail". Quite interesting name, I must say!
