PhotograJoy| Edible Flower Series: Oopsy Daisy!
”I want daisies in my hair, peace in my soul, and love in my heart.”
DAISY FUN FACTS
- Daisy is a 2-in-1 Flower. The white petals count as one flower and the tiny yellow petals that form like an eye is another one.
- Daisy contains medicinal properties and high in Vitamin C. Aside from that, this edible flower can be pretty addition for salads, and food decorating ideas.
- Daisy is a perennial widespread flowering plant that can grow up to 3 feet tall.
- A daisy conveys love, innocence and purity.
- January 28 is National Daisy Day: Ofcourse the prettiest edible weed of them all also deserves a recognition!
- June 8 is National Upsy Daisy: ”Oopsy Daisy!” a British expression and also a song by British rapper, Chipmunk.
I captured these beauties yesterday from the public park. There are atleast 20,000 species of daisy out there and in different colors such as red, orange, yellow, vibrant pink and Pastel colors. This edible off-white daisy is called “oxeye daisy” (Scientific name: Leucanthemum vulgare).
