Peter dreamed that he was living 60 years ago and had silver dollars,
upon his return to reality with money on a chip card.
Then in a coffee machine,
he placed an order using the card, the machine answered:
Please try later.
At the moment Peter remembered his remote past.

Wasn't there inflation of 1000000% last year?? That is crazy and boggles the mind.. All the capital must have vanished quickly as inflation took hold.. Some people who didn't act on time or had meagre savings must have got burned so bad :o(
Inflation is simply a fancy, obscurantist word for government printing money... effectively stealing from all holders of whatever currency is being printed...
Good read and very current. I'd say paper/coin money will become almost obsolete in my lifetime.. it'll all be virtual and on cards and phones and even personal chips in the decades to come..
And people who don't want their money in a bank (or a place that is a risk) will not know what to do. You can't hide electronic money under a mattress.
What a creative idea! I like it a lot. Very modern and up to date.
"Try later", what an aggravating response! So the new currencies will be not materials but functions. Kind of depressing.

It is crazy to think how far we have come from the traditional idea of currency. It is also a bit scary to think what the future may hold for currency. What happens one day if our world is completely reversed and we start back over with no electricity? Money won't mean a thing. No cell phones and no computers.
Well I may have taken that a little far, but sometimes it's important to think about how it would be, how we would change, if we lost it all.
