Another Season Down...
I know you have probably seen a fair number of people posting about the end of the latest Steem Monsters season. I will admit, I am quite late to the party this time.
The season ended last Friday night and this morning was actually the first time I have logged into the game all weekend. Maybe you can infer something from that, maybe not. I think it is worth discussing in a little bit though.
This was probably one of the best cards I got from doing the daily quests this season. I currently have it on the marketplace, but I think I need to adjust my ask price a little. My end of season rewards were pretty unimpressive. Though she got about ten to fifteen less free cards than I did, @mrsbozz did far better on her end of season rewards...

Most notably in this pull she got the legendary Lord Arianthus which has proven to be a decent tank int he right circumstances.

I figured that would be the extent of her luck, but then she pulled the epic Phantom Solider and gold foil Creeping Ooze. Her summoners aren't super high level, but she is actually staring to build up a decent little deck for herself.
Moving Forward
Oddly enough, although I didn't check my rewards or do any of the daily quests this weekend, I did happen to read this post by @steevc.
In it he expresses some concerns that I think a lot of people have had over the past couple of seasons and something that I have noticed myself... It is getting harder to progress through the seasons. Where I once was able to easily get to Diamond Tier, I am now lucky if I can make it out of Gold III.
I used to think this was attributed to my summoners and the fact that they weren't leveled up enough. I have since rectified that and I still seem to be struggling. I now have a new theory as to what is possibly going on.
Although the development team is constantly work on making the game better and they have introduced some cool things lately like card delegation and tournaments, I think people are starting to loose interest a little.
In the past, there was a huge drive to push higher tiers and get those rewards. I think anymore people are happy to login, do the daily quest, get their cards, and then not play anymore until the next day. This has led to a larger number of "like-skilled" players to just be hanging out in the Silver or Gold Tiers.
In the past those high level players would push up into the Diamond Tier or the Champion Tier leaving a little easier competition for those of us "moderately adept" players in the Silver and Gold tiers.
Again, this is just my theory, I could be totally wrong. @slobberchops has mentioned that they need to come out with some different cards. I think the removal of Beta packs from the rewards definitely reduced some peoples desire to compete. I think a lot of others have proposed some minor adjustments that could bring back some interest to pushing higher levels in Steem Monsters. My fear is if they wait too long it might be too little too late.

That lot looks just like mine.. I even got a gold ooze too! Not playing for a few days as the competition is too stiff just after end of season.

I to have noticed it so much harder to climb as each season progresses and your idea of what seems ot make a lot of sense to me
Yeah, I am not sure, It just seems crazy it is so much harder even at the lower levels now.
Yeah I normally can go up a couple of levels quickly at the start of a new season but no way this time struggling to stay where i started

I don't know why other people aren't playing, but I've just been busy. I've sat out of the last two seasons with the exceptions of just a few games. People are probably busy playing tournaments and not ranked games. But since they announced today that delegations are now active, I've put my cards up for delegation because I just don't have time to play. Just wrote a post about it.
Awesome, I am going to have to check it out. You think you are going to make some decent money?

I don't know. We'll see. I'm not sure what the pricing is like yet. I've seen one person with a price sheet, but they don't seem to be real high at the moment. It's going to depend on demand, I think.
