Leo's first riding camp

in #equestrianism7 years ago (edited)

My elder son Leo got a rare chance to try out riding and here he is riding on his own after just a few tries. :)

It's a three day riding camp at a pony farm with many different horses and ponies plus goats, sheep, chickens et. al. The lessons started easily enough from brushing and saddling the horses, then walking them around the grounds, and eventually riding them. Looks like it wasn't difficult at all for Leo. But I was perplexed about how eager the riding teacher was to give Leo extra advice and praise for his efforts. (I'm not sure but I would guess it's got something to do with the fact he was the only boy in the class. Privilege huh?.)

Anyway, Leo's been having much fun at the resort and I am kind of jealous ;). Maybe he'll like it enough that he'll be asking for more. It's a possibility I need to consider.

Thanks for reading!

Yeah, I did the same thing when I was about as old as your son is now. I liked it, but haven't sad a horse since. It was a great experience though. ood for your son, healthy enjoyment is great at that age.

Those are the kinds of memories a kid will never forget, good on you.
