EOS up 423% www.hitBTC.com

eeekkkkk!!!

we have 11 months to buy EOS ICO!

that is the brilliant thing about this EOS ICO (initial coin offering). i read somewhere that dan and crew wanted everyone to have time to buy some EOS.

so dive in! the water is fine!

easy buying EOS via My Ether Wallet - 4 Steps

Step 1.

i recommend the above video

Step 2.

this handy little thing gives you an inside peep at the state of the current buying 'window' (buying period) EOS ICO. you can see the current price of EOS in USD and ETH.
put together by @sandwich who built it on something wonderful made by @lukestokes

Step 3.

download and install and fund MEW = my ether wallet www.myetherwallet.com
MEW at first glance is like a messy kitchen.
MEW under the hood is simply elegant. it just works every time.
MEW provides you with your Private Key.
MEW wallet does automatic backups.

Step 4.

read this post by @thimom: "How to use MyEtherWallet for the EOS ICO". this is the instruction i used to buy EOS. and i can recommend it.

i recommend reading and re-reading before you begin, until you feel confident to go ahead.

more worthwhile EOS reading

@sandwich post: "EOS Crowdsale with MyEtherWallet - The Complete Guide". this guide might be even easier than the above guide by @thimom or it myight be unecessaryliy detailed. i don't know. i have not read it from start to finish. yet from the first couple of paragraphs, it looks like you will be led step by step to success.

i have been looking at buying more EOS since yesterday

and for the past two days BeyondBitcoin on SoundCloud had me glued to my headphones while i downloaded many of the audios. there was talk of bitshares and steem. that's what i was interested in. and i wanted to hear more from dan and his world. i wanted to hear about the beginning of steem and steemit.

i already had a bitshares wallet and wanted to hear more about both the wallet and BitShares.

to hear early talks about steem, begin at #151. you will hear dan speak excitedly about the beginning of Steemit with @officialfuzzy and many others. dan is bytemaster. and you can listen to all the Beyond Bitcoin episodes on the front page of my website - bitcoin for girls and friends - the one i made before i heard about steemit.

Dan's Vision of a Mutual Aid Society

he's my new hero.
i re-read the Steemit White Paper, and find i understand a little more each time.
dan is the reason i shouted yes! on first hearing about steemit. and @stellabelle @connecteconomy @subspaced @saikababii and all the Women of Dash slack hangout, where i first heard the word "steemit".

dan reminds me of Alfred E. Neuman from Mad Magazine - i don't know why really. the ears are quite different. they look nothing like each other. the thing is, when i recalled dan's face, he morphed into Alfred. for two decades my brother and i would laugh our heads off reading Mad magazines. Mad Mag. it was the geekiest reading on the planet. Spy vs. Spy - brilliant. i don't know what it's like now. i wouldn't be surprised if @dan has a wacky sense of humour.

Sort:

EOS will hit $10 by the end of July, and likely $30+ by the end of the year.

I think it will hit $45 after 3 months. Trust me.

Totally expected. As big as this thing was hyped I'm not surprised. Especially since USA couldn't participate until it hit the exchanges. I expect the euphoria to die down eventually but it might be a couple months before this happened. We'll see.

How does it stand now?

yes, even i heard about it. and yes i guess it will become more stable after a plummet or two.

and a really helpful guide by twinner on how to buy and how to claim tokens with MEW myetherwallet.com

thank you minnow team. now i understand what the @minnowsupport is. cheers to us all!
i have seen you on quite a few posts.

I haven't had time to investigate buying EOS yet, but was wondering what the transaction costs are to buy say $100 worth? I don't have a huge amount of money, and I'd be hoping to do something like that each week or two, so it reduces the volatility risk a bit.

Dan is certainly a fascinating individual.

hey andy @andybets greetings! have a look at this http://eosscan.io/ i do not know what the transaction costs are, but i know they are tiny - that is why i did not take much notice. my budget is 50 per week for cryptol before that, few months ago, i invested all my life savings in crypto. that's 9000 dollars. lost 2 bitcoin in exchanging bitcoin for dash because i did not understand how it worked. and everyone knows that you do not invest anything that you cannot afford to lose. yet i have done that anyway. mad. i know.

Ouch! I think they're running a test network with EOS this summer, I guess if we get any information about how that is stacking up against the promises in their whitepaper it will affect the price.

i should have said. my assets are now about $9000 with steem and dash. so i am happy with my lot.
"I think they're running a test network with EOS this summer,"
i am not sure what you mean, not familiar enough yet with the lingo.

Ah good! As I understand it, EOS is the software that will run the future blockchain that has not been started yet. The tokens being sold (ICO) seem to convey some rights when that launch happens, but what those rights are is not really defined because to do so (apparently) makes it a financial product which is subject to onerous legislation, and the software company block.one wants to avoid that. The last I read, they were going to start a test blockchain, were third-party developers could check capabilities etc. I think through doing that, we should get some more clarity of what it can do in the real world when it's launched properly. I'm a developer (that's why I know a bit), and hope to investigate if I have time.

ok. thank you for explaining. some of which computes. i will understand more of what you speak in time.

woa that's a lot of links!
That image of Dan as a cartoon figure made me laugh! I do see the resemblance, LOL! Yes, I want some EOS!!! I was gonna wait until it's on Bittrex but maybe I shouldn't...

so you can see a resemblance?
hey anja, too many links? i have just removed some, thank you for feedback.
the layout is awful as well. i have just realised that the EOS needs to be at the top.

Yes, I want some EOS!!!

i guess if dan and crew made EOS, must be good idea to be involved.

the MEW (myetherwallet.com) wallet is like a really untidy kitchen.
yet not once you read through the guide in step four.

Oh that wasn't a complaint - you can put as many links as you want :)
Thanks for pointing out the mew tutorial though, will check it out. Untidy kitchen is a good analogy! Maybe I'll even find my matchpool tokens somewhere in there... ;)

mathchpool tokens. you surely will. mine are there.

Yayyy well done @marionjoe welcome back to steemit, we missed you :)

cheers mark, i have a brand new recovered account. i feel as if i have been wrenched from the jaws of hell. to at last to have found some spooky crypto thing i could throw myself into, all through dan's vision of loveliness - steemit as a Mutual Aid Society. and then i go and lose my keyY(&(^*%&$??
yet, i have lived to tell the tale.
thank you for the welcome back @markwhittam

Your welcome @marionjoe

Nice post my friend. Dropped you a follow, you can follow me at @looking4llamas. Looking forward to your future posts!

i love your funny image.

Well I liked the nicely laid out screenshots, the video was helpful and the formatting is pretty on point. You might wanna work on your capitalisation, makes the post look nicer, just a friendly word of advice. :)

thank you @looking4llamas. i really appreciate your feedback.
